See a doctor.
If you'd have phoned for an appointment after a month or so of being in pain, you'd have been seen last week. |
By:
It is painful when I flex the wrists, but not too bad,but the top part of the forearm along the centre ridge is where most pain occurs.
By:
any pins & needles or loss of grip sometimes?
By:
Hows yer neck?
By:
Neck is fine.
By:
Btw doctors with conditions like this are less than useful..
By:
Could be golfers elbow or tennis elbow. My condition started with the left arm and i had cortisone injections for years into the elbow. 20 years later they decided it all stemmed from my neck..
By:
No pins and needles and no loss of grip, but a reduction in power,if I am trying to lift or pull something the strength is well below what it was because of the pain.
I was thinking of going to a good physio as gp's are not much good at this sort of stuff. |
By:
Cut out the weight lifting till it settles down....
By:
Joking aside, get to the bloody doctors!
By:
i don't lift weights, but in the day to day activities when i do it hurts.
By:
My mum had something called "Tenosynovitis", which you may guess is to do with the tendons!
By:
Thanks for all the help so far guys.
By:
its arthritis 1.01 to much acid get some methotrexate tablets from hospital take 5 every monday but takes 2 months to start working so ask hospital for a sterold injection works after 3 days and last for up to 6 months the methotrexate would have kick in by then
By:
blimey, we have a real Dr in the house and its not that Dr Crippen chappy!
By:
You say your neck's OK, but can you actually flex it and turn it fully both ways? I agree with guinness2dear: all sorts of problems in the arms, chest, even the legs, can result from a stiff neck. Can you twist your neck and feel it click? And if so, does it improve the problem in the forearms?
By:
the neck is fine noi problems with it.
By:
Methotrexate is for Rhuematoid arthritis and is horrible stuff.
By:
golden fleece go see doctor he will refer you to hospital it will effect your joints knees shoulders go before it gets worst you will be given what i said and will have to go back about 4 or 5 times a year to hospital for blood tests and a check up they are nothing to worry about
By:
unders 101 but it works i should know
By:
Have you got RA mad.dog?
By:
Do not go to a physiotherapist. Are you ambidextrous?
By:
yes
By:
You still on methotrexate tablets?
By:
It might be just repetitive strain, if you are doing manual work. It doesn't sound like carpal tunnel (you would get tingling/numbness in hands esp thumbs)If there is no loss of grip, it probably won't be (osteo) arthritis, esp if you don't get pain in the knuckles. Don't know anything about rheumatoid arthritis, I'm afraid. If you are doing manual work, a couple of weeks off might help. Either way, you will need to see a doctor. If you make an appointment straight away, with luck, you might get seen before christmas.

By:
Same here, it's horrible stuff but compared to the alternative it works great. Not everyone's body can cope with it though. Have your liver function test always been ok?
By:
yes got to go have a blood test 2 oct was on 8 every monday doctor said something showed up on my liver so they reduce tablets to 5 doctors said what showed up was i got a fatty liver
By:
unders101 have you had storoid injections they do work fantanic but you can only have 3 injection
By:
Mine have always been pretty volatile and I have been taken off it a couple of times, ok at the moment though. Go to the doctors golden fleece, even if it's just to rule RA out, as the longer it's left undiagnosed, the more it fooks your life up
By:
Only once, after my first referral to my Rheumatologist. They are great, but no good long term
By:
your 100 per cent right where you from unders im london you might also have a fatty liver also i take a frolic acid 1 only on a friday
By:
I live in Cumbria mad.dog. I am supposed to take Hydroxychloroquine as well, but I stopped taking them as they were making me feel sick. I haven't told anyone though. I don't bother with my folic acid either. I feel as well as I have done for years at the minute but the fatigue is a pain in the backside, especially at work
By:
they said mine is wear and tear i used to do a lot of heavy lifting jobs years ago
By:
"Voltarol"....."The Joy Of Movement"!
Has to be the crappiest slogan ever..... ![]() |
By:
you should take the frolic acid rearly stops the build up of acid in your body
By:
They say anything to be honest. I can't see how its wear and tear when it's an auto-immune disease. They say it's not hereditary as well, yet my uncle, grand mother and great grand father all on my dads side all have/had it
