For the past few months I have pain/aches in my two hands and both of my lower arms, and if I put lifting pressure on them it is very painful. It feels like it may be arthritis but I am only guessing I am looking for some possible diagnosis from the wise ones of chit chat tia,by the way I am 50.
No pins and needles and no loss of grip, but a reduction in power,if I am trying to lift or pull something the strength is well below what it was because of the pain.
I was thinking of going to a good physio as gp's are not much good at this sort of stuff.

Could be golfers elbow or tennis elbow. My condition started with the left arm and i had cortisone injections for years into the elbow. 20 years later they decided it all stemmed from my neck..

You say your neck's OK, but can you actually flex it and turn it fully both ways? I agree with guinness2dear: all sorts of problems in the arms, chest, even the legs, can result from a stiff neck. Can you twist your neck and feel it click? And if so, does it improve the problem in the forearms?

It might be just repetitive strain, if you are doing manual work. It doesn't sound like carpal tunnel (you would get tingling/numbness in hands esp thumbs)If there is no loss of grip, it probably won't be (osteo) arthritis, esp if you don't get pain in the knuckles. Don't know anything about rheumatoid arthritis, I'm afraid. If you are doing manual work, a couple of weeks off might help. Either way, you will need to see a doctor. If you make an appointment straight away, with luck, you might get seen before christmas.

Same here, it's horrible stuff but compared to the alternative it works great. Not everyone's body can cope with it though. Have your liver function test always been ok?

Mine have always been pretty volatile and I have been taken off it a couple of times, ok at the moment though. Go to the doctors golden fleece, even if it's just to rule RA out, as the longer it's left undiagnosed, the more it fooks your life up

I live in Cumbria mad.dog. I am supposed to take Hydroxychloroquine as well, but I stopped taking them as they were making me feel sick. I haven't told anyone though. I don't bother with my folic acid either. I feel as well as I have done for years at the minute but the fatigue is a pain in the backside, especially at work

I would suggest that if they are any good at all, they would only give relief for muscular pain!
Skeletal pain is another thing altogether, as is neurological pain, which is from what I suffer!

No but I do take Ibuprofen for incidental injuries.
I have "Peripheral Neuropathy" which is not good!
It's the dying back of the nerves starting at the longest, being the feet.
My toes are without normal feelings, so difficult to balance sometimes, and one of my big toes is as dead as a horses hoof!
I am on the max dose of "Amitriptyline", which I call "my happy pills", as they are also prescribed for those with depression.
So my body is falling apart but I feel great......

do you drink coca cola or other sugary soda drink. acid forming foods need to be countered by leaching calcium out of your bones. this weakens the bones and causes bone spurs.
