Very unusual, Crags...a bit like yerself...

Yes, I thought there were some great photos too. I like the one with the dockside gantry
and also the one with the two drunks scuffling in the street. Some subjects for paintings? The Glasgow Lowry? You can find similar rough areas in most industrialised cities even though, as zorro says much has been redeveloped. It was like taking a walk back in time looking through them. |

By:
Vel, you are a fine one to be calling anyone unusual
![]() Good me ye are though ![]() The above KB was done in charcoal by a fan on the facebook group I think it was. |

|
|
By:
That De Chirico copy is very good...is it framed yet, Foinavon?
|
|
By:
Or pencil rubber picking out highlights...

Thanks, Vel, It's kind of you to say so.
![]() I have framed it and I'm still making up my mind about the colour of the mount. I'll post a photo tomorrow and would appreciate your opinion about it. Good standard of drawing again Zorro. Where do you get your ideas for the different faces? Do you draw any well-known people? |
|
By:
it's just doodling from imagination. sometimes they come out looking like someone. I think it's because i'm using average proportion in the starting stage.
they take about five minutes each to complete. |

Another good one, you obviously have an eye for it. Would take me more than five minutes draw anything presentable, perhaps I should practice.

I had problems with reflections from bright sunlight when I took this, this morning and had to put it on the floor. The colours also look faded the previous image is closer.
Anyway Vel, what do you think of the frame and mount? The ivory mount matches the colour of the building but I was wondering if painting it black would be better or if it would look too funereal. ![]() |
|
By:
WOW...It looks terrific framed like that...is that silver gilt on the edges? Really like this type of frame - it really suits the painting. Your painting looks terrific, Foinavon.
I found an unusual painting that has a similar steep perspective...will submit this for later. Zorro - best drawings since Felicia Cranberry... ![]() |

It's a photo frame (16 x 20) from "The Range". I bought the mount in Hobbycraft. Cost about £10 in all which was a bargain. I've used the same frame for other paintings in the house and they look good.

The pink one from Zorro is terrific. I like the tilt of the head.

That's a creepy image Vel, I can feel it in the pit of my stomach
![]() Haven't seen his work before.Look at the edge of the street and that building is glowing. |

By:
one street light? one tree..one point perspective
the wattage in that one street light is tremendous. and it seems to be aimed upwards instead of down. |

Did anyone see Dougie Wallace on "What do Artists do all Day" last Thursday?
It was hilarious. You have to admire his brashness getting close-up shots in the street. Brilliant photography. |

Didn't see that Foinavon - people don't like a camera poking about and it makes you wonder how these photographersget such terrific images.

Like VIVIAN MAEIRS - she did street photography for decades and built up an incredible archive. She wasn't a professional photographer but the photos get a lot of money now.

That's VIVIAN MAEIR, not MAEIRS.
That is Bodil's art deco drinks trolley. Bodil's main dog, NOLF, an ex-police hound, is obsessed with the art deco trolley, which leads to the strong possibility that Bodil has stashed an illegal substance in there, in the art deco drinks trolley. (PENCIL ON COVONIA DOUBLE IMPACT LOGENZES - I MEAN LOZENGES - PACKET). TITLE - NOLF WITH ART DECO DRINKS TROLLEY. |

that BBC ponce... yentob, yentl? Alan yeebobt - did a program on bbc4 about her.
a garage full of her photos, hidden away - bought for sheckles by two collectors? it was interesting. but get another presenter/producer? She documented her surroundings amazingly... being a woman made the subjects less self conscious. |
|
By:
Yeah - she was a great artist, no question.
