Wuthering heights, excellent.
Well, you won't be needing mine now, so I'll give it to someone else.

No offence but, having read some of your comments lately, I wouldn't want anything from you.

Kind regards.

Foinavon - there are an awful lot of rich kids at art school - sons and daughters of euro mps from France, Germany, etc., students with famous parents in the media, students from very wealthy families...at GSA there were dozens of Norwegians, Norway being super-rich. First year was ok, with lots of set projects, but the other 3 years were entirely formless with the odd "crit" which was voluntary per attendance...students tended to lose the plot and did as little as possible...school pub was 20 yards away, across the road.

Like, 95% of students lost the plot by 3rd year...out of all the teaching staff, 2 had genuine talent regarding painting and sculpture.

Thanks, Vel, seems like a good scam if you have wealthy parents.

The Kate Bush cartoon is by a Welsh artist called Bethan Mai

Zorro, I looked through the Loomis books online as you suggested. They are very detailed and I can see how they would be great for anyone wanting to become a professional illustrator or cartoonist. Thanks for the information.

Yep, I think you've got it there, Foinavon...quite a few students had annual studio visits from disapproving parents who were baffled by the stuff being produced...they had expected some sort of academic training which was non-existent...little Venetia or Cornelius had gone tonto like Colonel Kurtz up the river and was sticking feathers and buttons to MDF with industrial glue and bitumen...Excited

Modern art is baffling. Perhaps the parents were expecting their kids to be painting like Whistler after 12 months.

Vel, your crags thing reminds me a bit of Ian Dury's DO IT YOURSELF album cover. Well, the cover of the one that I've got, he had many different covers all different designs of wallpaper. Not played it for about 25 years so may have a blast of it later...     Inbetweenies the races Wink

Vel, your crossword puzzle squares reminds me of a Kandinsky which had a warped chequerboard design, the squares painted with subtle muted colours. I can't remember what it's called now but will look it up.
