Photo approved in record time  This is a pastel picture (in progress) of the Temple at Karnak. I chose the paper colour to match the shadows and some shows through. Use light-dark to give the illusion of shape, as in the foreground pillar and add decoration only when you're happy with this. Working left to right to avoid smudging for right handed person. How are you getting on with your drawings?  |

Did it last night while watching Cap America on bbc1, then got up this morning to see Ronda routed on her return...quite a similar pose...$2.5 million for the defeated fighter and $160,000 for the victor.

I really must get back to the drawing. I did start on a view of St Tropez, a couple of months back. I never even got started on Frankel  I was thinking of trying to do a Kate Bush picture for Crags I really must get going again. I will order the rest of my pastels pronto and will get back to it in the New Year |

Lol. Well that was a very confusing read upon my return and very funny
I have just ordered 25 Conte Pastels on eBay to complete my set. Absolute nightmare. Had to use two different sellers. Adding each one to the basket individually, then going back to continue shopping. First order wouldn't go through. Had to empty the basket and start again! Now I need to order something to keep them in, my wrap only holds 30 and doesn't roll up properly because the pencils are bigger than standard crayons. This is why I have been delaying doing anymore drawing. The ordering is done now tho', thank goodness. Kate Bush and Frankel could soon be on their way |

Ok...image size is 16.8 by 11.3 centimetres...must cut thick paper for simplified drawing...check date...jan 2...have run out of whisky and ginger ale...crisps gone...only quavers left...choker stays in...repeat - choker stays in AT ALL COSTS TO DRAWING!!

Reasons to pick this image - it looks like a hand coloured photo from the early 20th century - the colour of the neckerchief is reflected in Kate Bush's cheek and hair. It is a very evocative image.
