As compared to Dave n George, Jezza n Tom, Tim n ???,not much ofa choice all round eh ? I do not expect Boris to become leaderof the conservatives at all,he has made far too many enemies and Farage has only campaigned for one issue and now has that. My choice is David Davis who is head and shoulders above Cameron and Osborne and could unify the existing party of government.

My 89 year old dad (a working bloke all his life, mostly on the farm) said a couple of days ago that there are "people who don't know hay from a bull's foot, who are going to vote" and that "shu'nt be allowed". I voted remain, he voted leave.  He says he had two G+T's tonight instead of the usual one. I hope he is right but then he usually is, he's my dad.

TheBetterBettor - Its posts like your that make me wish we weren't on the same sideCrazy.  Whatever we think about it, it's called democracy. It's a bugger when it doesn't go your way isn't it.

If we ever hoped to control immigration we had to vote leave.

I am a pensioner so am probably going to be harmed by leaving....but I did it because I thought it was right.

I have no problem with immigrants as people, including Muslims, I just don't think they can all come and live here.
We cannot cope.

You are right blackbarn democracy has both its advantages and disadvantages

But leave has been decided democratically.

The year up to June 15th this year. 1/3 million immigrants, our own population increased as well, so up a total of 1/2 million people in a year.

We do not know what we are doing.

Laugh coachbuster.

Plenty of the unemployed can learn plumbing

We are panicking a bit, but we have done it now. New trade agreements will materialise in time.

Remember no more immigrants, except those we want, look on the bright side.

Ebulgery - "Remember no more immigrants except those we want". We are taking 2/250k immigrants pa from areas not in the EU. This volume will be unaffected by any change in EU status. The rules on EU resident immigration will take a couple of years to unlock. Your faith in this vote as a solution to the "problem" is admirableWink

Cheer up, it might be fun! Laugh Anyway, we won't leave in the end. Boris or Gove will go to the EU and negotiate "better" deal, which will actually be worse than what cameron got. Then come back across the channel triumphantly claiming that they have "saved Britain" and got better of the Germans and French, and ended up the best, richest country in Europe, reducing the poulation by 12 million and putting an end to terrorism, unaffordable house prices and bad schools in one fell swoop. Then, the reality will sink in. Grin

It probably isSad

But we are not obliged to take immigrants from outside the EU..
If we still continue to do so....well there is only so much we can do to save us from ourselves, I would not take anyone
unless we need them, or they bring business with them

as you say BG - Not sure how many people they think they can fit in to such a little
island - we full well know the do gooders would fill it up until we start fighting
among ourselves to stay alive! Crazy

when they supposedly patriotically say about protecting our jobs - it makes you
laugh as the jobs they mean are mainly foreigners doing them,  they've isolated a whole generation
+ of home grown kids ready to work - that can't be good.

We should just repeal the European Communities Act tomorrow and save all this bullsh*t. Let the markets do what they want. You people think that moody's are going to bother the people of England? We have chosen our path. We will now walk it. And don't underestimate how many of those English votes yesterday were influenced by a wish to divest ourselves of the midge-infested wasteland beyond Gretna Green. They can do one as well.
