This behaviour appears ghoulish to me Ron but the BBC have bought into it and are selling it for all it is worth one day before the vote, cynical or despicable ?

Odious thread

I agree that it is a difficult issue crags but surely most of us would grieve in our own space instead of taking up a political agenda at such a rotten moment in time ?
By:
crags, I know what you are saying, but her husband spoke as if the political agenda was more important than her life ,He was so dispassionate it beggared belief.
By:
I've read the thread through and can't see anything odious in it.
Tis the husband who's started the debate. |
By:
Have you had a few quid on leave? You've done your dosh, you sad ****
Mr. Cox is a very brave and honorable man, and he and his children have my very best wishes at this awful time. Hopefully this thread will be deleted. |
By:
That's big of you crags. I think moral high ground jumpers are sad tbh.
By:
crags no one will disagree with that sentiment, history will claim her husband right or wrong. It's a terrible condemnation on our world that we should even be discussing this on this forum., Mea Culpa, so are you.
By:
crags,I fully agree with your sentiments but this should not be used as a campaign tool. It is grotesque to seek advantage this way in one of the most important elections this country has had in 50 years.

I watched the interview. I realise it was more than likely heavily edited but still it made me feel deeply uncomfortable that a man who'd just lost the love of his life was prepared to do an interview before she's even been buried, and that most of his words were about politics.
By:
I watched him on Paris Direct last night and he is an odd fish indeed.

I saw the interview on BBC news and found it very moving
although no doubt some on here will say it was biased editing by the BBC. |
By:
utter hypocrites, if Jo Cox's killer had been an immigrant, you'd all be saying the exact opposite.
By:
Exactly that is the problem on here anyone who does not have right leaning views is referred to as a luvie, window licker or worse of all hating your country and yet being bigoted, sexist and racist is almost like a badge of honour on here
![]() |
By:
I have never referred to anyone with left-leaning views as a luvvie or a window-licker. I have however, as someone with right-leaning views, been labelled a bigot, sexist and racist. Hypocrisy works both ways.
By:
I can't even believe we're discussing this to be honest DIE LINKE, but if Jo Cox's killer had been an immigrant, the widower would hardly have been allowed to conduct a week-long media-saturated diatribe against immigration.
By:
PokerDane on here the expressions I quoted are used on numerous threads to describe anyone not Brexit/Ukip.
By:
Fife. Yes, I know, sir, but the invective is just as bad in the other direction.
By:
Although not an explicit insult, your earlier post implied that right-wing members of the forum (like me) were bigots, sexists and racists.
By:
Who on here, specifically, holds up these prejudices as badges of honour?
By:
Im centre not left - right but bang in the middle
I dont believe you can only be one way , both sides are fkcing pathetic |
By:
i think you took that too far there.
Labour has turned into a ponce political party. they deny the unions, so even working class people are scunnered with them. Lost all of Scotland with their atrocious middle ground thinking. Learn from Trump. He's an arse. but most people are too. All this political correct - rubber bracelet for charity? mincing about is toxic. |
By:
I saw an interview the other night and I was surprised that someone who's wife had just been so brutally killed would want to go anywhere near a reporter.
Waiting a few days till after the funeral maybe but this was far too soon, so I do question his motives. |
By:
It was Mr Cox who chose to give the interview and bring politics into the conversation.
I was surprised he claimed to know (and allowed to say) the killer's motive when there has been no trial. I find the whole thing disturbing, from Cameron's tweet about missing Jo's contribution to the Remain campaign to this extraordinary interview. |
By:
obviously he,ll be just as keen to jump in front of a camera when his sexpest stories starting hitting the headlines
By:
All falling into place nicely for the establishment. All worked well birthday to keep it in the limelight. Sounds cynical but....
By:
Big event in Trafalgar Sq today. Brendan Cox invited Londoners to come and attend.
Has she even been buried yet?? |
By:
obviously he,ll be just as keen to jump in front of a camera when his sexpest stories starting hitting the headlines
they will not be hitting the headlines |

Is there a D notice Burt?

it happened a while ago and he resigned, soon as he did Save the Children closed the case.

The exploitation of Jo Cox's murder by members of the REMAIN campaign is one of the most nauseating examples of political opportunism I've ever witnessed. Absolutely despicable.
By:
Yeah like the other side wouldn't have made capital out of it had he been a migrant.
By:
Right or wrong, that is absolutely no excuse at all for their behaviour. Despicable.
By:
WE'll never know fife. But remember two wrongs will never make a right. This bloke is obnoxious considering his wife isn't buried yet.

"The exploitation of Jo Cox's murder by members of the REMAIN campaign is one of the most nauseating examples of political opportunism I've ever witnessed. Absolutely despicable."
Exactly. It's out control. My feelings are todays (second this week) memorials are entirely political. That pathetic rag The Indy is currently running a ridiculous anti-leave story as apparently a plane flew over London (you may have heard of it, it's a big city) today with a Leave banner, when some part of todays memorials are going on. In the view of Remainers, this is an outrage. Are Leave supposed to stop campaigning the last day before the vote? Run everything past the ****ing permanently outraged tw*ts that now infest our society? |
By:
I've just watched the event on Channel 4.
Truly bizarre. Once again, Cox said his wife was the victim of a political attack. (No clear evidence of that as yet.) Then this 'love like Jo' bit. Seriously, WTF? I greatly pity the poor lass to be struck down at such a young age but this response appears orchestrated and staged managed just in time for tomorrow's vote. Not sure I've seen anything like this before. |
