It's possible for any club golfer to beat say McIlroy over one hole but I can assure you no one playing baseball as a pastime would get close to hitting a ball against a ML pitcher.
G2D would have beaten any professional in the world over one hole on the four occasions he hit a hole in one. |

Scan, if you were a potential top golfer and a great prospect as a baseball player in USA and a scout for the Yankees offered you a contract offering you 200 million dollars, would you accept it or play pro golf where you might earn some decent cash if you can win on the tour? Exactly, it's a no brainer. I can assure you some of the top MLB stars are very good golfers.

let me simplify this for those of you (like guinness2dear and themightymac) who are not capable of logical thought.
If we take all the people who have ever played golf in its long history. Lets say 1 billion people. (the fig. dosn`t really matter it could be less) And assume they play 10 times a year, and take on av. 100 shots per round. That is 1000 billion shots in the history of golf. Now how many of those 1000 billion shots will have been properly struck? Well i will tell you, approx. 10 It could be a little more or a little less But of those 1000 billion shots around 10 will have been properly and beautifully truely struck. That is the nature and difficulty of golf. |
|
By:
of course its more shots than that because they are likely to play more than one year....but they will not get any better, no golfer would deny that
|
|
By:
No Baseball player could ever come close to winning a major, not even close, they would finish last by some distance across 4 days and 72 holes, so when you say they are good golfers, they're not.
|
|
By:
they are appalling golfers!! fact.
|

i belive Babe Ruth did try and play golf, he was useless

If only 10 shots out of a trillion hit with a flat surface striking a stationary ball are 'truly struck,' how many balls moving on an arc at 95mph with a round bat would be similarly perfectly hit?

they are appalling golfers!! fact. Outfielder Sammy Byrd, who played for the Yankees and Reds from 1929 through 1936, played in 10 U.S. Opens. Most recently, former LA Dodger Rick Rhoden qualified for the U.S. Senior Open four times, in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007. |

Your post was opinionated nonsense. My bolded response fits the definition of 'fact' a little better.

michael, we know a ball can slip of the edge or whatever in Baseball.
But that is not the same thing, just as in tennis it is not the same thiong, or in cricket. The nature of these games means ther is no mystery why this should happen. It is to do with hand eye coordination. But golf is different, you can have the greatest hand eye cord, and be the most beautiful athlete...but that will not help you unless you unravel the mysteries of this great game |

Tiger Woods, admittedly a grade-A cnt, speaking about baseball Hall of Famer, John Smoltz:
"Smoltzy? Well, I had not ever played with an amateur that had ever shot the scores he shot," Woods said to the Orlando Sentinel. "He is a hell of an athlete. He can play basketball. Obviously he was an incredible pitcher. But I think just the way he is able to take that same tenacity into golf is amazing. I've gone out there with him when he's shot 69-67 in the same day … so it's pretty phenomenal." |
