I've never really taken any notice of Sturgeon does she have the capacity for blowing up and losing it?
|

never seen her rattled,Salmond is her tutor

Looking forward to this one. For all the fun in seeing Farage rattled and repeating the same old not-at-all-xenophobic-no-sirree-bob garbage I thought Cameron was poor and I can't stand the man anyway.
Sturgeon seems a good sort while it'll be amusing to see if Boris can try to give a straight answer to a question or if he'll just revert to his hair tussling and "look, (just give pre-rehearsed speech whether relevant to q or not spiel)" schtick. |

By:
One question I'd like Nicola Sturgeon to answer is how do you want independence from the UK but don't want it from the evil empire that is the EU.
|
|
By:
To be fair if I was Scottish I'd be livid at being ruled by a Tory government down in London while there is the sum total of 1 Tory mp elected in Scotland.

I hope someone tears into Sturgeon for her parties arrogance and logical inconsistency over this referendum
The will of the Scottish people was given in the 'once-in-a-lifetime' referendum on Scottish Independence referendum two years ago. Scotland chose to remain a part of the United Kingdom and is therefore bound by any overarching decision made by the British people at the forthcoming EU referendum. This is not 'Scottish Independence Referendum Mk II' and Scotland cannot opt to stay in the EU if Britain opts to leave. Furthermore, as a Nationalist Party, why would the SNP want to subsume lawmaking to Brussels when it didn't want to do the same to Westminster? That's not anti-English racism is it? |
|
By:
Scotland not a nation at Westminster ---75% of tax remains at westminster
|
|
By:
"75% of tax remains at westminster"
Westminster gives Scotland a huge £15 billion a year more than Scotland contributes in tax, and it's getting worse. The reason Sturgeon and the rest of her crew aren't really campaigning for "full fiscal autonomy" or "independence" is they know Scotland absolutely can't afford it. So they just continue to pretend they want it to keep the idiots voting for them, and pocket the UK money that they know stops Scotland going bust and stops the liars in the SNP from getting lynched! |
|
By:
I think it's excellent how many seem to think that the independence referendum should be "once in a lifetime" or "once in a generation." I was under the impression that we live in a democracy. If the Tories win the next election should we just forget about elections for the next 30 years? I guess not, so what makes this part of our democracy different. I realise that there is not (yet) a constitutional precedent for independence referendums as there is for the GE, but we either live in a democracy or we don't.
Or when you are finished, if it's your ball - do you simply pick it up and go home with it and not let anyone else play? |
|
By:
Yes we either do or we don't
So let's have more referendums - on proportional representation again, the death penalty and allowing fracking in the UK for starters. For avoidance of doubt, I would welcome this extension of democracy wholeheartedly, but it's not going to happen is it? Or we don't. We accept that after a long and well argued campaign, Scotland decided, albeit narrowly, that it wanted to stay a part of the UK. A UK that makes democratic - within the confines of the present democratic system - for it's entirety and not on some geographical 'pick n' mix' basis. |

People should just expect lying b*stards to stick to their word and honour the solemn agreements they signed, not immediately ignore results when they don't go their own way like petulant children. Though expecting the SNP to act honestly or other than children is of course a complete waste of time. The SNP don't get to take the democratic high ground, either they signed the Edinbugh agreement to honour the result or said it was once in a generation, or they didn't. And FYI they did.
|
|
By:
the once-in-a-lifetime line is repeated ad-nauseum by the unionists because they are terrified of another indyref - they know the outcome next time.
|
|
By:
Yes - just keep having votes until the proles get it right!
|
|
By:
If there was a new referendum it would be even more of a loss for the SNP, the Scottish deficit now is huge, the SNP only came close before by lying through their teeth, fiddling the figures, and forecasting an inflated oil price. Scotland may have its SNP lunatics but there are also many sensible people and it isn't going to vote to go bust, which it would if there were a referendum any time soon. No amount of waving flags and tantrums from SNP supporters can change the truth.

Roger, surely you know the SNP's support for Remain is purely tactical ?

It's a perfect match up, from a remain perspective. Suicide Blond attempting to sell Brexit as an "us first" issue, Sturgeon saying we're with them, not you.
|
|
By:
Sturgeon and her party are very poor. All they talk about is Independence. A lot of people who voted independence last time round will NOT vote for it again. The SNP are like a one trick pony. They need to start getting back to grass root issues in Scotland. One question that someone should ask Sturgeon " How many Syrian refugees has she taken in to her own house"? She came out stating we all should take a refugee in at that time

Kriskin..you aint happy?..then f off over the border.

I have little time for either of them, but Boris, at least has comedy value!
|
|
By:
It is also a strategic error diminishing Suicide Blond's bid for leadership. Nicola Sturgeon never aspires to leading the UK. Will Boris attempt a superior tone? That could backfire spectacularly.

Homefield advantage for Jeanette Krankie, I mean who the hell is advising Boris on this farce?! |

As someone who lives just over the border in England, Scotland appears to have become very upper-middle class orientated in its spending programmes. Bridges that should charge are free. Museums and galleries are free. Even something like Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum is free, when it could easily charge. Just 100 km south, English Heritage charge you just to park your car near Hadrian's wall, and that's before you've even touched it. And further south still in England, you have to pay to get into Wales, cross the Thames at Dartford and you will shortly have to pay to cross the bridge from Runcorn to Widnes. Widnes ffs!
Is it good public policy for the government of a country to corner the market in fun stuff to do for arty types with cars? At the expense of the free market. I hope Boris asks Nicola something about this. |

Some are convinced that Boris is a Remain plant !!

---------- British Museum, Science Museum free Edinburgh castle, Stirling castle, not free Tolls paid on Forth bridge had covered construction plus interest 15 years prior to being abolished Skye Bridge PFI farce hardly great example for free market Then again it's easy to cherrypick examples. |

Expect a few big sighs from Sturgeon followed by Oh for goodness sake.
She won't directly answer a question and is an accomplished liar. |
|
By:
They didn't inflate any oil forecasts, they used the official UK government figures of the time.
No they didn't. Forecast were generally between 80 to 85% of the figures used, |

Not an argument Boris can win, if he is too overbearing he will alienate female voters.
Aside from putting Nigel Farage on live television each night, which is the Renain dream, this is as good as it gets. |

There are another four on including Angela Eagle but somehow I think these 2 will dominate proceedings.
