By the way annie I was once of the same opinion about Spanish wines but have found they've improved considerably over the years. It does help when you are sat in your tee shirt in January taking in the rays while everyone else is shivering back in blighty and you are supping an excellent wine which the exact same bottle would cost double back home.

Thanks, Eeternaloptimist, as I have said before it is posters like you that keep me coming back to chit chat and it is posters like crags that send me away again.
All I wanted was a nice discussion about wine ![]() |

I don't think my name carries anything acquiesce. I give my opinion same as everybody else. I know you're not fit to carry my jock strap though.
In what way does annie irk you so? If it's a bloke having a laugh and it pleases them what business is it of yours? Just maybe you're wrong though and someone possibly vulnerable who may occasionally need the company which a forum like this may provide may be denied that by you being a two bob ar5e crack. |

Let me approach this from another angle. Let's say you're right. Annie is really a bloke. Okay then. This chap has been posting here for ten years pretending to be a woman. From what I've seen he's always been courteous and friendly towards people. It may give him a great deal of solace in his life to do so. He may be very unhappy or have a stressful life. None of us know. By what right do you seek to deny him that solace? Wouldn't you say that what you are doing is bullying someone weaker than yourself? Does that make you feel good about yourself?

Evening All,
My name's Annie & I like the Eagles. You can call me ... Hot Fannie Dave. *** bbc, where's my osh for posting that? You sed ud gimme a 5er n a burka, innit? |

EO, I'd say that being a liar for ten years is not really on. And making a thread about Rachel's arse on Countdown one minute then not long after stating that you don't have a TV is quite annoying. Also turning people against each other like he's done is pretty ****. And getting on so well with terry for years but then saying in defense of not meeting them.. 'I don't meet strangers' is laughable.
Trying not to waste any more of my time on this issue now. Goodnight all. |

Rubbish-I lurve barley wine
![]() |
|

Powerful stuff that barley wine, probably the drunkest I've ever been was when I had a night drinking that in early 70s, not touched it since.
Anyway, I like wine a lot - my post was meant to be read as.. whine... whine... whine. |
|
By:
i really love my wine and drink bottles of it ,but i couldn't drink it out in the pub .
certainly not a 'blokes drink' and possibly in the same league as a latte ![]() |

Just an update on the wine I bought.
I bought about fifty bottles of wine, and so far I have been only drinking the cheapest bottle of Tesco Vineyards Malbec at £3.38 a bottle. It is a steal! Maybe I am drinking it so as to 'save' the more expensive ones, I don't know, but it is very good for the price. |
|
By:
Not very ladylike to glug down a bottle of cheap wine every night, dave.
|
|
By:
Annie, do you have an Aldi nearby? If so, give their Uco valley Malbec (£5.99) or their Exquisite collection Pinot Noir (£6.99) a try. To me they are both

I have read so much about Aldi wine, Lee, but sadly there has been none here.
I keep meaning to go to one, but it involves a long trip by bus. If I go by train it would not be worth it. Thanks for the tip. And you were right the first time, Lee, it is ANNIE ![]() |
|
By:
dave, the Malbec grape is high in tannins and will give you a poorly tummy eventually. This is why one should never drink cheap wine.
|
|
By:
Aaah, such concern for my poorly tummy, lol
![]() It might be cheap wine, crags, but it is better than a lot of more expensive wine. So you drink wine, crags? There might be hope for you yet ![]() |
|
By:
I never drink cheap red. If you insist on cheap wine, stick to white wine which has very little tannin.

Amaroni is a rather splendid tipple.
Knocks Barolos etc into a cocked hat. |
|
By:
charwell - Even if you could spell it, comparing Amarone with Barolo is ridiculous. They are two completely different wines, made from completely different grapes from completely different parts of Italy.
Some people on here don't know a Bordeaux from a Claret ![]() |
|
By:
Excuse the typo good boy. Enjoyed by Amarone immensely last night.
Of course you can compare the two. Both red wines and therefore comparable. Matters not a jot that the grape is different. It's down to drinkability and that's it. |
|

looks like there will be a decent wine list at the reception in The Horsebox !
