looked up my clip - my memory was faulty.

missing you - Dan Yessian and Barry Murphy

Love was so tender, I let my heart surrender.
In the summer breeze all our cares just flew away.
But Summer turns to Autumn and it seems so wrong..
now your gone..... and I'm missing you...

it seems like only yesterday, you and i we passed this way
underneath the softness of a starry night.
we had so much to say... making future plans...
castles in the sand ... i'm missing you
and in the back of my mind, I'm trying to find a reason why?..
a beautiful thing like the flowers of spring ... have to to die.

And if in time will i find someone new... or will I spend my whole life..
missing you......(piano)

life seems so lonely and i think about you only...
all i have are memories and photographs...
but it's only made of paper, i'd throw it away...
oh, but the memories stays... i'm missing you.

and in the back of my mind, I'm trying to find a reason why?
a beautiful thing like the flowers of spring ... have to to die.

And if in time will i find someone new... or will I spend my whole life..
missing you...... (trails off)(piano takes over).

Neil Young - Heart of Gold -  The fuss searching for the harp in the correct key is worth it for the glorious opening.

Not sure who posted Catch the Wind by Donovan below, but it belongs in any list of underrated songs/songwriters.

Just about to turn the tv off, and a program was starting.. Papadopoulos and Sons, a series about a Greek chip shop
owner (no it's not a comedy about a kebab shop!), and the opening music was stunning. It's a choral piece by
Stephen Warbeck, but I'm darned if I can find it anywhere... not on youtube, but the instrumental version is.

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - preferably Roberta Flack's version, is stunning and beautiful

'Fake Plastic Trees' - Radiohead and 'Roads' - Portishead are also beautiful but in a very different way.

Utterly beautiful in it`s musical simplicity, and in a somewhat different genre than previous offerings, `Pokarekare Ana` by Hayley Westenra;

We've all got our favourites, I suppose. Here are some contenders, though:

Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell
The Only Living Boy in New York - Simon and Garfunkel
Something - The Beatles
Rocket Man - Elton John
Space Oddity - David Bowie

Lots of others spring to mind at various times.

If I Were A Carpenter by Tim Hardin. Bobby Darin's version is the cleanest - most polished, but Tim Hardin's own rougher, edgier Woodstock performance beats it for sheer emotion.
Moon River - probably Andy Williams version best for me.
O'Mio Bambino Carro - rooftops in Florence at daybreak with the bells of the Duomo chiming in the distance.
Chi il Bel Sogno Di Doretta - waving barley in a summer thunderstorm in Florence, Lucy Honeychurch in a passionate embrace.
Love Minus Zero No limit - Bob Dylan - playing to a group of friends in a Newcastle hotel room in Pennebaker's documentary Don't Look Back. Donavan's face recognising perfection.
Skye Boat Song. - Turning bloody conflict of a mad delusional insurgent into beautiful music.
Greensleeves, (Vaughan Williams' "Fantasia on" version)
San Francisco - Scott Mckenzie. The Summer of love summed up.

There you go - my Desert Island Disc list.
Luxury - the internet.

I liked that, Vel.

Reminds me of a recently discovered favourite: Walking With Elephants by Ten Walls.

Wouldn't it be just great to be out a-walking with elephants?
