Not saying it's the most beautiful song ever, but it's a beautiful sad song 'Wasn't Expecting That' Even though he sings "I wasn't expecting that" about 500 times !!! Just a perfect song and Jamie Lawson such a great voice.

I have to say the first time I heard that the repetitive nature of that line was irksome and I found the song trite until the final verses which were heart rending.

^ I thought it would be a beautiful song for a wedding until I listened more closely to the ending and she dies. Shocked

Do you mean song or "piece of music"?

1st term tends to mean last 60 years, second term tends to mean last 600 years :)

There are some TONE-DEAF beggars on this thread.

It was like being dragged along to the local Folk Music Club - under sufferance.

Probably not the most beautiful - can't think of what is off the top of my head - but Time To Say Goodbye by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman is a worthy contender.

Stephen Fosters "Beautiful Dreamer" (1864) by various artists

Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops are awaiting for thee
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day
Led by the moonlight have all passed away

Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song
List while I woo thee with soft melody
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng
Beautiful dreamer awake unto me
Beautiful dreamer awake unto me

This is a great version
