mebbe a bit harsh on KJT. The wind is swirling round the stadium giving big following winds one minute and headwinds the next. Might also be contributing to the fast 400m times
By:
Looking at the heat results looks like the wind was following them round the stadium in heat 2 of the 400m

Couldn't get over the 400 heat times; exceptional

Is the track in Beijing made out of different materials to others or have the Chinese measured it wrong?
Times at Olympics 2008 and here, insane compared to lead up event times. |

Mondo have laid a new track in the stadium this year

no way he can beat gatlin surely
By:
He's a broken man.
By:
He won't get a medal running like that I'm still too scared to lay him though.... that start was comical but still went sub 10 seconds.
By:
dont think the start was too bad just the stumble set him right back

gatlin is different class Absolutely, but in what class would you put drug cheats in ? |
By:
If there was liquid in the market i'd be laying the arrse off Bolt top 3
By:
Will Bolt turn up for the final?
By:
he is in a different class when hes on drugs, is that better?
By:
That's good enough
By:
The yanks have found a good chemist for this comp.
By:
Gatlin is different class when off drugs. He never ran this fast when he was on them, they were clearly slowing him down.
By:
He should be in the slow learners class for being dumb enough to fail dope tests
By:
Hard to believe at 33 years of age & running his fastest times that after being caught twice he is drugs free, in fact I doubt anyone with in interest in athletics watching this thinks he is drugs free, a bit of a farce really, will have to be careful not to run sub 9.7 then that will look stupid.

From Sporting Life....
Usain Bolt to win 100m Final. In what is expected to be a shoot-out between Usain Bolt (6/5) and Justin Gatlin (8/11), the Jamaican simply must be backed to reign supreme at these generous odds which could well look very silly in due course. Bolt, who won three Olympic golds in Beijing before defending them all in London, may well have endured an injury-disrupted season but he always saves his best for the big occasion and I fully expect him to defend his world 100m crown. Gatlin will certainly have his backers - he's unbeaten since 2013 in a total of 27 races over 100m and 200m while he also possesses the quickest times in the world this year in both sprints (9.74 in the 100m). Bolt's best this year of 9.87 makes him the seventh quickest man in the 2015 rankings but make no mistake about it - he's saving his best for when it really matters. You won't get the chance to back Bolt at these prices too often so now is a great time to strike. |

Katerina Johnson Thompson looked devastated, she should easily of had a medal, very backable for the Olympic Gold.

Blot stressing over his starting blocks not a good sign
