Can I have 1.01 about Steve Cram saying "Mo Farah answers his critics in the best possible way" when he smashes the field to bits in the 5000 and 10000 ?

Gatlin the more impressive there. Albeit with a better tailwind. Interesting to see if the odds change.

Bolt eased down with 10 meters to go, got a poor start and still ran 9.96, he does seem worried though, normally he's smiling, laughing and joking before the start but there was none of that, very unusually tense and his interview afterwards was the same.

Jess Ennis is perfect in every possible way.  Changing her name to Ennis Hill isjust rubbing our faces in it though.

Free money to lay KJT in Heptathlon. If you dare take on any possible challenge that is.

No challenge. KJT was not interested in a medal of any colour other than Gold ,they say fortune favours the brave Sad

1cm is worth either three or four points. For the sake of holding back a few cms ...

Darlo she has been balls (excuse the expression ) out since the start ,she is 22 tactics will come ,insanity in the high jump yesterday ,know what you are saying sadly KJT has one gear at the moment ,She is a massive runner for Brazil Happy

I don't think there was a lot wrong with going for it; but I think there was going for it, going for it, going for it. Dead easy to say in hindsight but surely she had to put at least some mark up in either r2 or r3  when the differences are fairly small by holding back on just one of three jumps.

Different tactics & approaches for different people though I suppose.

You are spot on Darlo ,somehow her approach appears to have been all or nothing ,Perhaps having Jess as a team mate has caused this ,who knows ,would have been great going forward if she had been a bit more conservative Sad I lose touch
with athletics cant believe Jess was the price she was ,looked at betting last night before 1st event and thought HTF is
Jess this price ,there must be something I don't know Happy

GO GOLD JESS ... Happy

Thing is Jess did the exact opposite. Got a jump in, then with a safety net improved on it. That second improvement heaped all the pressure on KJT having had the first two fouls.

It was pretty clueless by KJT. Should have been a lot more conservative and brought her landing foot back a good 10-15cms - she could have still produced a jump in region of 6.60-6.70m & still be battling for gold.

Madness TBH , would have been a great battle ,but ? You can fault her stupidity ,you cannot fault her competitive approach
you live and learn ,but all in and done by a toe nail is a bit cruel Laugh

Not entirely unknown for championship marathons. Jim Alder went off course in the 1966 Commonwealth Games because tournament officials forget to tell him where to go when King and Queen made an impromptu visit. He lost the lead but reclaimed it on the line.

I think JE's big second jumped forced her to go for it on her last jump.....realistically to win gold she needed 50cm on JE.
