They changed the exit poll methodology in 97 and since then its been good. But rise of ukip and snp may make there model redundant again

Are the BBC satellites orbiting the wrong planet? Delay between studio and outside broadcasts is huge.

is not one of the fundamental differences that the sample size for the exit poll is a lot bigger than the pre-election polls...

You can tell from the demeanour of the Labour people being interviewed that they do not believe they can for the next government.

Not clutching at all Ibrahima. The LibDems committed suicide by joining the coalition. They might as well disband the party if they join them again.

I want Clegg to lose his seat.  Hopefully UKIP will win over 10 seats.  :)

20k is large sample, but they they have used it to predict the seats which is not uniform, something screwy imo

That's a very fair point.

not sure about that, they only committed suicide from a labour angle as they didnt think it.

libs are a nothing party, if they can get a couple of their ideas into government then they are doing better than being left being the 3rd/4th/5th party. Lib voters wont see that though.

Clegg and Danny might not even be there, new leader new direction would be my guess

Exit poll is based on statistical modelling. Some seats will be 100% certainties so need a sample size of 0 to calculate some winners.

Libs are a nothing party? Would have been interesting to see the Tories trying to form a govt without them in 2010.
By:
brendanuk1
When: 07 May 15 23:11
correct its the statistical model i am questioning, snp and ukip hard to model and initial number for snp looks wrong imo
By:

When: 07 May 15 23:12
so you think lib dems could win an election Confused

(all years)
By:
ReaseHeath
When: 07 May 15 23:12
the rise of SNP and UKIP could compromise the exit poll but you'd think they'd have adjusted the methodology to account for that.
By:
Darlo Bantam
When: 07 May 15 23:12
I think the point above is a valid one that this election is different to previous ones so previous statistical models may not be anywhere near as accurate.
By:
Mikael D'Haguenet
When: 07 May 15 23:13
Of course i don't. I said they committed suicide. The Tories wouldn't have been able to form a govt without them tho.
