sweat and sour

That is really thinking "out of the box"!

A tale of total incompetency and certainly not worth chucking any more at it.

The potatoes is a good shout but, by then you will be putting carrots, parsnips, turnip, onions, half a bottle of a good Shiraz etc,

and dumplings to finish.

So you will have an expensive, and inedible stew, in a rancid sauce.

the sweat and sour was a sauce for the pork chops ,that was the tea ,pork chop s+s casserole served with rice and nan (not so good tbh)

although i did put the remnants in the soup Grin

just turned the  cooker on and will taste later and will begin adjusting and  hopefully after a fine tune or two it will be ready for tea

sent a SOS (save our soup ) to my ma and awaiting a reply Grin ,if anyone can save it she can .

That sweat and sour doesn't sound very appetising.

BBC saturday kitchen this week has two special guests, Madhur Jaffrey and our very own galloping gourmet " breadnbutter ", cooking his seasonal delights and a sprinkling of seasonings from the pantry.

Enjoy

Was already a dead duck of a soup as soon as the butternut squash was added.  Trendy but the blandest vegetable known to man.

The heat isn't the problem men.  It is the fact he has chucked a pineapple and a cucumber in it.  The game is up, this is an ex soup.

Butternut squash  best if marinated in garlic with tarragon - no use on it's own .

Non veggies need to know how to get the best out of foods to get the results ,otherwise it will be a boring  meal ,just meat and 2veg Happy

It must be fermenting by now, stick it in a demi john for a few weeks and it'll be 40% proof.

ok lads ,amazing what a night sitting can do for a pot of soup ,was a diff mixture this morning and after the addition of some water and some mashed potato/cream/coconut milk  i now have  a gallon and a half of reasonably good tasting soup.
Needed a slight adjustment just a bit tangy on the pineapple and  have put a very small amount of tica masala powder in and a very little  tom puree and a bit more salt and a dash of mustard and vinegar .Just turned the cooker off and tasted and its nearly there .
Its a complicated taste of tangy aromas and an after heat but not too hot anymore .

Another night standing will not do it any harm .
of course you never know until you are a few spoonfuls in but seems not bad

hahahaha!

Why not stick an Aubergine in it?

They are the most useless vegetables known to man - but it just may be that they could help your concotion out a treat!

Mrs. F. puts half a packet of Grace's C0ck soup in pumpkin soup to spice it up a bit.
Tastes marvellous.

You've got a gallon and a half!!?  FFS you only set out to make two pints. How many times have you transferred it to a bigger pan? Laugh

started and finished in a  family size pressure cooker ,gallon and a half a slight overestimation ,about 6L .

Taste changed a bit today and still a tad  tangy (pinapple/peppers) just needs a very slight adjust but cant decide what would be right .

will be ideal on the fancy  smaller deco  plates ,arranged neatly around some noodles/seawead with a tomatoe garnish center piece  and some cream zig zag artwork to finish it off .

fresh celery and  dip should compliment nicely .

Why not just strain it and use it to hang wallpaper? That way it won't go to waste.

Another night standing will not do it any harm .

reminds me of the story of the invention of worcestershire sauce. Lea and Perrins found that their attempt at recreating a recipe brought back from India, tasted f*cking disgusting, and left their miserable swill in their basement for a couple of years. Two years later, they went back and had a taste and liked it, bottled it and sold it.
