They have a very catchy football chant...Youuuu Esss Ayyyyy!!! Yoouuu Esss Ayyyyy!!!
its a wonder they can remember it |

Yes they're thriving in tropical detriot these days

i think we have a massive chip on our shoulder as a small nation and this thread speaks volumes.
I don't ever remember hearing the Yanks saying how much we annoy them . |
By:
Britain is lucky to be a small nation, big nations = big problems.
By:
So why don't the Russians like them Coach?
By:
The yanks are often stereotyped and often unfairly so. For instance they have a great sense of humour from my experience, a quality largely lacking in our european neighbours. The one reputation they do deserve is their lack of knowledge about the rest of the world geographically and understanding of it politically. And I am not talking about their leaders but the average man in the street.
By:
I can't stand that Wikipedia thing they have created. And to create it without asking for taxpayers permission and of course their money, that's out of order.
By:
So why don't the Russians like them Coach?
______________ That's a problem for them surely ? |
By:
i'd rather have Americans in my town than East Europeans

That's a problem for them surely ? I see. So being a small country has nowt to do with most of the world thinking Americans are tw@ts, then? |
By:
i don't know why folk think that - i have met many Americans and find them very polite and self effacing .
i can only think that the dislike is through envy maybe ? |
By:
are you maybe confusing American citizens with the American system ?
By:
Very beautiful and talented people...unlike the average british frog!
By:
Not really, although I do see the distinction. It's not the 'American system' that chants 'USA! USA!' which certainly helps fuel the dislike.
By:
The USA have been very courteous, both players and supporters, in the ryder cup, unlike the british and irish rabble.
By:
obviously you get good and bad in all nationalities - maybe look more at the individual person rather than write off a whole nations people .
By:
lfc -it's small country mentality again .
a bit like how the Scots are with the English ,and Australians to a lesser extent . His car is bigger than mine boo hoo ![]() |
By:
very much so coach, really we should be ashamed at being so.
By:
That individual person is very often a god-fearing, gun-toting, flag-waving boor.
By:
nothing like a good stereotype
By:
It's a stereotype for a reason.
By:
Do you realize the Velvet Underground were American, and the Band, and Louis Armstrong...that's all you need to know.
By:
The Band were Canadian, Levon Helm excepted.
By:
someone waving a flag about would be the least of my problems tbf
outside of the major trouble spots in the major cities USA has a pretty low crime rate ,i haven't time to check now ,but the smaller towns in many cases are safer than our own . |

True, forgot about that

Mary Lou Retton would be a better example!

'The fact they call most of their sporting league winners "World Champions" despite only allowing teams from their own country to compete.'
____________ knew that would get a mention ![]() they allow Canadian teams in ![]() |

By:
Never heard of her.
By:
Many Yanks, if they lived over here, would be UKIP supporters. Those that weren't would be Tories. Look how they treat Mexicans!
By:
Not in the NFL, Coach.
(I don't have a problem with the World Champs thing really. They essentially are.) |
By:
The record shows, it is possible we may never see such a great nation for another 1000 years, perhaps never. What the American men and women have achieved is a kind of miracle.
By:
Wait til China asks for their money back, lfc!
By:
Yes well there we have an example. China the new superpower. Can you name one Chinese company...there are literally hundreds of American companies and people you can name....thousands.
