And id say thats utter nonsense because it has nothing whatsoever to do with what is happening, and why would you very mischievously mention such a thing other than to undermine a person who cares about what is happening to the sick people of this country. Half of the fecking posters who post on here could be described as 'fruit loops' yet you fail to bring them to task. Quite apart from that, the posting at that time was put up with ref to a book written by someone else.
I would be willing to bet my very rights to post away with regard to the conservatives chances, ie. if they win the election i promise i will never post on this forum again. And now, a few thousand more fruit loops inc the c a b themselves..... Citizens Advice 28 Nov 2014 — Today the government published its response to the Work and Pensions Select Committee’s recommendations for ESA. The committee adopted one of our Fit for Work campaign asks in calling for people to be paid while they wait for a second opinion on their ‘fit for work’ assessment. You added 15,350 voices to this by signing our petition. We’re really disappointed that the government has failed to take this opportunity to address this situation. They will continue not to pay people during ‘mandatory reconsideration’. The government’s failure to help sick and disabled people get the support they need is unacceptable. The next government needs to make urgent changes to fit for work tests and ensure no one claiming ESA is left without financial support whilst challenging an assessment decision. Please tell your MP that you want them to commit to ending this unfair policy in their party’s manifesto for 2015: 1. Find out what your MP’s contact details are: http://bit.ly/CABfindMP 2. Send them an email by copy and pasting our Google Doc template email: http://bit.ly/FFWMPletter |

eeternal why do u post at all? does your secretary understand dictation from a troll?

Why I mention it is because you have offended me, a right wing conservative voter, by labelling us with far worst names than fruit loop. You throw out insults left, right and centre, calling people scum and **** and the like.
What makes you think you care more about the sick and underprivileged than the next man? |

I forgot that end of the world prediction. There you go Tony. You are a prat. Benefits related deaths my @rse.

By:
You clearly don't have much credibility and appear somewhat obsessed to the point of being willing to twist the truth and seem to confuse fact and fiction Tony. You're hardly a reliable and impartial guide to what is clearly a serious issue and possibly may be suffering from mental heath problems. If so I'm sorry to have laughed at you.
|
|
By:
rob i honestly thought you were sensible, mate, the fact that all those deaths have occurred and literally thousands of people have also blamed this gov't, dwp, and atos, and i do mean thousands, must leave grave cause for concern id have thought, so the fact that you are actually dismissing those deaths just be inferring that i am a 'prat,' means you are also calling the thousands of suffering uk people prats, also. I have not twisted the truth at all. Anyone who isnt right wing can see that.
You have also conveniently attacked me when im actually posting up all kinds of relevant data and statements from other sources inc, c a b who must of course be equally incorrect. Poker, the reason i have labelled this right wing gov't with names is because they actually deserve them, because they have allowed countless people to be very unhappy to the point of death, children and families starving, ive never ever seen the like of in my life and u actually have the gall to support a govt like this.I would advise you to see sense at once. And if you did actually care about the sick and underprivelged as u infer, you'd not vote for that party. |

With ref. to the infamous end of world thread, thats to be taken with a pinch of salt because at the time i was referring to a book id read - bit like u posting stuff about iain dunc smith becoming a decent bloke after youd read it in the daily mail.

Give it up Broke Tony. There wasn't a scintilla of humour in that thread. You believed it because you are a fruit cake and yes there are thousands and possibly tens of thouands of people like you out there. Just look at the great unwashed on all these demos and it will be quite clear what kind of person is attracted to this kind of madness and yes it is a kind of madness.

heres one more tho, poker, if what u say is true, why are people (see cab post above) being left without money when waiting on their appeals? is that morally acceptable from a conservative govt? And why are many people now being treated by slaves ie workfare, instead of paying these same EMPLOYED people a living wage?
|
|
By:
Poker - very well said.
I'll keep saying this: We borrow £90BN a MONTH to fund the public sector. We pay interest of millions. This can't continue... |
|
By:
why are people (see cab post above) being left without money when waiting on their appeals?
But that doesn't happen Tony. You continue to get tax credits, child benefit, housing benefit. You can claim Job Seekers Allowance while waiting for the ESA mandatory reconsideration, which I appreciate means you are between 50p and £30 a week worse off compared to getting ESA, but these people are not being left without money. . http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/appeals-and-mandatory-reconsideration And to be frank, I think it's you Tony that has the problem empathising. Can you imagine have chronic pain, unable to sleep, trying so many pain-killing drugs you have to keep a list, pinning your hopes on a successful operation which ends in things being worse. Whatever you do, peeing, eating, standing, lying, the constant equivalent of tooth-ache all over your back and legs. And then having relatives that don't actually care about you enough to drive you to an appointment, but do care enough to score points off the wrong colour of government not to tell the DWP when you pass away which is what Jacqueline's sister omitted to do. With pain racking your body and relatives like that, ATOS staff being curnts isn't right, but's it's not your main problem. |
|
By:
Exactly Bongo. Whilst there are some people who don't have anybody there are plenty of them who have been left to their own devices by their family who then throw up their hands when something goes wrong. Reality check people. There is no such thing as government. There are people and if you aren't doing your bit Tony then you are the problem. Stop expecting others to take up the slack.

Iain Duncan Smith might not be your favourite politician, nor is he mine, but I can tell you what he is not: he is not scúm; he is not a ****; and he is not a monster.
I beg to differ Franzi - he is all of those things imo ![]() |
|
By:
with all due respect bongo (thanks for bringing that other thread back up btw) people most certainly ARE being left without money - people who are being swapped between esa and jobseeker's allowance, who then appeal against their decision, now have to wait longer for the outcome. Why would the citizens advice write the above regarding the gov't's enforced mandatory waiting periods?
And why do this gov't keep talking about austerity measures for the poorest members of society only, while they cut tax for the very richest, ie bankers etc ..do u believe this to be fair? |
|
By:
dude they haven't cut f all taxes in reality.
labour didn't introduce the 50% bracket until just before they left power purely as a poisoned chalice to hand to the tories , it was pure politics nothing else because they knew those at the very top end with millions can easily move their money abroad and the treasury then gets f all from them so the net gain for 50% wasn’t very much. those in 40% bracket actually pay well over 50% when you take into account both sets of NI , believe me both sets come out of your wage, so if you think those people should pay an even higher amount you're fkn dream land and each party knows it’s political suicide to try and up that. I'm sorry but austerity is more likely to hit the net takers rather than the net contributors get used to it |

Where did all these disability claimers suddenly come from?
With two thirds of all claims for this type of extra benefit being thrown out now, it's clear the system was being abused. Well done Ian Duncan Smith for finally getting a grip on the situation. |

Another fruit loop
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Writing on his blog Mr Meacher said: “The papers are full-on when members or ex-members of the government make a fool of themselves behaving badly when they can’t get their way – Andrew Mitchell foul-mouthing a policeman with the toxic ‘plebs’ allegedly added in because he couldn’t ride his bike through the No.10 gates, and David Mellor ranting at a black cab driver over the best route home to his £8m pad near Tower Bridge. “But what really matters about members of the government is not their silly misbehaviour, it’s they [sic] way they’re crucifying millions of people even to the point where they’re denying them food and shelter. “On this, with a few honourable exceptions, the media are largely silent on the grounds presumably that they don’t matter because they’re not famous. “A million people have been sanctioned by government ministers over this last year, which means that they are deprived of all their benefit for often petty infringements (e.g. being 5 minutes late for a job interview) and hence have no money for at least 4 weeks and sometimes 3 months, forcing them to steal to survive. If they’re caught, the penalty for stealing some meat from a supermarket might be a fine of some £200 which of course they cannot conceivably pay, or it might be 6 weeks in prison. “IDS supervises the sanctioning (though it’s outsourced to a privatised firm doing his dirty work for him), while Grayling takes care of the imprisonment. “This is the treadmill of impoverishment to which this government is now sentencing hundreds of thousands of people every year, a crescendo of wanton harshness out of all proportion to the treatment meted out to other miscreants. “During and after the Napoleonic wars there were up to 200 offences for which a person could be hanged, usually for stealing to keep their family alive. “The people of this country sitting on the juries finally got round this draconian repression imposed by the ruling class by refusing to convict. That is what juries and magistrates should do now when faced by the stark injustice of the criminal justice system. “MPs who 5 years ago stole big ticket expenses to which they were not entitled, including many on both front benches, suffered no penalty worse than being named and shamed in the newspapers, with no more than half a dozen fall-guys, not the main offenders, sent to prison for a few weeks. “Not a single banker has been prosecuted for presiding over the wrecking of the financial and economic system by the most brazen arrogance, recklessness and incompetence, even though it has ravaged the lives of millions of innocent people. “None of the super-rich who have been avoiding due payment of taxes by the most artificial forms of contrivance have ever been personally brought to book and sent down. “We are now seeing one law for the rich and another for the poor in its most vicious and nasty form.” |

Joking aside. I partly agree. I have been one of the biggest critics of the fact that no bankers were slammed in prison and apart from a couple of high profile examples the MP's were left unmolested for their detestable law breaking. They are in a position where they set the example and that example is greedy, grasping and rancid. I don't agree about people who avoid tax. That is our duty. Our responsiblity is to comply with the law. It is politicians who frame the law. Any blame for what people do to avoid paying tax lies with the politicians. As long as people don't evadetax then they do nothing wrong.
However, having said all that it doesn't mean that the attempts to get to grips with those who abuse the benefits system shouldn't proceed. As voters it is our prerogative to throw out the politicians who abuse the system or who haven't brought the bankers to book. If we don't do that then we only have ourselves to blame. |

Fair play to Meacher, he must have so wanted to stick the word 'literally' into that sentence. And for delving into a past world of executions that occurred after the Napoleonic Wars for the most relevant historical comparison to now, that's class writing is that. |

Research shows that claimants who move
off benefits and (re-)enter work generally experience improvements in income, socioeconomic status, mental and general health, and well-being. Guess who wrote this and when - CAB in March 2010 |

Poor recognition of mental health
problems We have long been concerned about the poor recognition of mental health problems by many of the HCPs in the assessments. We see repeated evidence of people with severe mental health problems being found fit for work, and find it very hard to understand how people with clear and obvious problems are found to be suffering merely from mild depression. A client who had attempted suicide a number of times in the past and was felt by his GP to be at ongoing risk was found to have mild depression by the Atos doctor and found capable of work. CAB also in March 2010. The minister in charge of the DWP at the time was Yvette Cooper - who is still around. |

There can be no defence or argument made of this statement. What is happening to the poorest segment of our society in the UK today in 2014 beggars belief. This Tory government couldn't care less. Their disdain is palpable. And all the more disgusting as a result. And - God forbid - the electorate vote them back in , with or without the support of the embarrassing and dangerous UKIP, then we can expect to see further cuts to welfare and services.driving an even bigger wedge into our society and making their divisive strategy create more blame culture amongst the working classes. |

with or without the support of the embarrassing and dangerous UKIP
How do you know UKIP are going to further cut welfare and services? So it's: 'no' to Tories 'no' to UKIP and 'yes' to what? Lib-Dums? Labour? Green? Monster Raving Loony? |

Jenny· Top commenter Good - why they need to torture people with lifelong chronic conditions (like my own MS) by making them have regular medicals is beyond me. It is a waste of money to put us through them and the stress caused can make our conditions worse - we are not likely to be miraculously cured are we? Or does IDS see Atos or Capita as a form of the Messiah. I would dearly love to get back to being a Practice Nurse but no-one is interested and I am so depressed because I now feel on the scrap heap and hate having to receive benefits. If I lose my DLA (PIP) I will also lose my car which has been adapted to use with hand controls as I cannot feel the pedals with my feet. I will then become isolated and housebound and potentially another suicide statistic (or should that be manslaughter at the hands of DWP?) |

^^How ridiculous.
We spend more money on disability benefits than almost any other country (£50 billion,) while dozens of countries spend nothing at all. ''The focus on Britain for the latest inquiry raised eyebrows given the other countries represented on the committee. Its members include Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, and Tunisia.'' Stuff likes this brings the UN into disrepute. |
