EO - "Whether you like them or not they are statements of fact. Labour started this reforming process including changing Incapacity into ESA and employing ATOS. To suggest anything else is simply lies"

When are people like you gonna realise they're two heads of the same fcukin' monster...just like the Democrats & Republicans in The States - it's just a fcukin' game! Angry

They're ALL corrupt & self-serving pieces of detritus!

Despite the impressive (at first glance) evidence in the list at the head this thread, I still know of many people who receive extra benefits for illnesses that they seem to keep well hidden when you meet them.
One middle aged couple in particular that I know of, receive extra benefits for illnesses and regularly attend hospitals for checks and stuff yet go swimming at least three times a week.
They usually complete 64 lengths of the pool each session to total a mile of swimming on each visit to the pool.
How many on here who work can swim 50 meters let alone a mile?
They don't appear to have any mental illnesses and seem perfectly sound in mind and body and well capable of working.
I also know the gentleman concerned does work on the side mending domestic appliances.

I suppose if their benefits were stopped and something happened to them shortly after, then they would be candidates to be added to the list of horror stories above.
After their cases were exaggerated and distorted out of all proportion of course.

Of course there's no chance whatsoever that you've made that all up, is there Crippen? Out of interest, how do you know all these details, do you follow them around making notes? You sound a bit obsessed.

PS Have heard of the term "hydrotherapy"?

nonsense crippen, you ought to be ashamed, or else youre blinkered, just like mr I D S. How can the growing number of deaths be taken out of proportion? And its good to know atos pulled out of their original contract due to lack of profit and not the increasing allegations and fecking deaths beacause of them! (inc dwp in this too)

It is always, and always has been, about profit. Nothing else. Feck the plebian classes, the sick, the disabled, I really hope, at some future point in time, this mob can be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. And i still cant my head round the fact that a person in this country can be found starved to death surrounded by letters stopping his benefit when he was mentally ill, and legally done to stop this ever happening again. If there havent been riots in this country for a long time, there certainly will be should this gang of criminals get back in come may 2015.Although they may be hoping any would-be rioteers will be dead by then anyway.

People are dying all the time.
You simply take those who have something in common, in this case accusations of benefit fraud and then a mishap after benefits have been reduced or stopped and then blame the sanctions on their deaths.

I'm sure that if you scanned all of the many thousands of people who have had their benefits stopped, you would find even more candidates.
And if you also scanned those that were received benefits for ill health when they died you would find many more.

At the end of the day, how much of a person's paid working efforts should go towards supporting people who are pretending to be ill?

I begrudge every penny I have to pay in tax to support them. It's as simple as that.

Navel

My point was made to illustrate that very fact. Where I presumably differ from you is that I don't claim to know why it happens or more specifically who are the machiavellian figures behind the scenes pulling the strings but what I do know is that politicans of any persuasion tend to fucck things up and then fucck things up again trying to correct what they have previously fuccked up. Anybody who believes their fairy stories is an idiot.

but you dont begrudge your taxes going to those who are already wealthy. You should try looking into some of the reasons why sick people (genuine sick people then) are called to interview every 3 months, many of whom are mentally incapable of forming answers to tick-box leading questions which will then eventually be deemed by dwp as proving those people are then fit for work...

That is an assumption. Here's another:

I take it that you are a claimer yourself and you've been asked to justify your claim.
Furthermore you think that people like me should simply fork out and shut up, while you live off the state and live your life out in relative poverty and blissful lack of any responsibility for your own existence.
Is that the case?

I'm with Cripps on this subject.  I hate paying for other people, the majority of whom I consider to be either lazy or useless or both.  The welfare state is broken.  It has created a class of uneducated irresponsible useless layabouts who think it is their right to spend all day in bed playing their X Boxes and breeding like vermin whilst forever  taking out of the pot with no danger of ever paying in.
By:

Same old, same old.

The people in the class of "uneducated irresponsible useless layabouts" are in the minority of people who rely on the state.
These people will still get by, steal, deal drugs, not work or whatever else it is you suppose they're doing. We all know people like this, and we've all 'heard' about loads more.

However, the truly needy, the sick, disabled, older and otherwise unfortunate ones, are the ones who suffer. They are in the majority, they have no voice and are the easiest targets for the government cuts.

I'm hazarding a guess here, but I think the lack of empathy and understanding is bordering on the sociopathic, which may give us a clue.

The Welfare Budget is £119BN a year.

We are a hugely generous country. Our care for the young, the sick, the lone parents, those who look for jobs and those who don't, the disabled and the elderly is quite simply staggering.

The list at the start of this thread makes for grim reading though. As always it's easy to blame Govt and not family, friends and neighbours. The state is too big and is not there to replace family.

I'm sure many of us know people on benefits. I know of a lady who gets a brand new adapted car every 3 years which her son sometimes uses for work.... I know of someone else who is retired, owns their own home but has little income. She has 3 siblings.

Her boiler broke and she rang the council who paid for a new one. (£1500 perhaps??) At no point did the council ask her, to ask her well off siblings to help, or to move into a smaller home to generate cash flow.

Who pays for all of this? The private sector.

Whoever is in govt has to tackle this welfare budget. It's out of control and one can only hope the genuine people don't suffer.
By:

When: 18 Nov 14 16:59
the welfare budget would be lower by quiet a bit if house prices were at a normal level.
because people cant afford to pay rent on welfare its extra.

ffs...some have to have housing benefits even though they are working full time Laugh

yet no government will do anything to rectify that because they will never be voted in again and also it will only themselves personally in the pocket.

so easy to pick on the ones with no say no power as no one will listen.

its a seriously fked up country we live in in many ways.

btw the interest on the countries debt is around 40bn a year.....i think we can safely say we are in deep sh1t

G1 - spot on...........The elephant in the room for a generation has been house prices.

This week inflation has been declared for the year at 1.3% but shock horror this does not include house prices.. They've gone up 12%....

Spoke to an old fella the other day. He bought a house in 71 for £12k. Sold it for £29K 3 years later. It was a golden time for that generation but now the consequences of that kind of inflation are horrific.

Back then you could borrow 3x a modest income and get a big family house. Now if you borrow 3x a modest income you get a big caravan. Hence the tax credits/housing benefit and disincentive to get a job to pay an enormous rent....

Is it possible to give every unemployed person a job?  Say it was,(it isn't), would they earn enough to live off or would they have to claim Working Tax credit (Benefit) and Housing Benefit?  I think they would because thats what happens at the moment due to the low wage economy we have....so who would there be left to act as a scapegoat?

Still possible, look at these here:

3 bed houses in scummy east London are £250 to £300 a week in the private sector.

The majority of jobs pay minimum wage or close to it.

The result is full time workers claiming Housing Benefit.

Once you start to travel west towards the city, rent gets more expensive.

If this govt wants to save money, let it stop sending money to places like Africa.

Stop people in the UK owning holiday homes for an income, whack them with a tax bill for it.

Stop paying 650 parasites in Westminster their expenses while they get paid £70k a year.

That's a start.

People who own these homes already pay tax on the income from them. And the tax goes towards funding the huge bill for welfare.
Why would you want to stop people from letting houses anyway?

Do you want to stop people from renting out cars and others from renting out plant and equipment as well?
What about hotels and boarding houses?  Where would you draw the line?
Do you want to stop anyone from making a profit on anything they've worked hard to build?

People on low wages should live in council houses, which don't cost £300 a week, like private rents do.

Thatcher sold them off, and for reasons unknown, she told councils not to use the money to build more council houses.

The reason i posted at all was to highlight the fact that many many vulnerable and sick people have died DIRECTLY as a result to gov't cuts, atos mismanagment and dwp red tape - leading to extreme stress, more illness, and an increasing number of actual deaths of those same vulnerable people. To ignore what is happening and do put up utter shyte about paying taxes (how much pp - around 2p?) towards the tiny minority who 'pretend' to be ill, is both heartless and misses the point (purposely?) of what this gov't is actually doing to save money and add to the great wealth of the other tiny minority. oh, and another thing, how they didnt recognise  the fact that the equally scandalous bedroom tax would actually increase housing benefit cliams is beyond me..ie. private landlords push up rents for the increasing number of homeless who then have to vacate their houses owing to under occupancy.

As stated before, people waiting on medicals to claim PIP has been done on purpose, to force a percentage to give up their claims, many have, some have died, what happens is, in a high number of cases is, people are refused, the appeal, win their appeal after waiting a long time, then theyre called in again for another assessment, refused and appeal again, a constant cycle of punishment, leading to extreme anxiety for many mentally affected claimants...it stands out a a mile!! i despise all theyre doing....the most criminal gov't in this country's entire history.
