Pubs closing between 3pm and 5pm on a Sunday in NI.
The Six Million Dollar Man. Getting put into the sink as a baby and getting bathed. Prayers at school assembly. Radio Commentary in the bookies. Only trebles and upwards in football matches, also having to wait until Monday to get paid out for Saturdays games. Match of the Day was the highlight of the week. Ireland's Saturday Night or "The Ulster". A newspaper that was printed on a Saturday night with results and match reports, how they met their deadlines was beyond me but paper boys were able to sell it in the pubs less than 2 hours after the games finished. |
