Where in the world could the McCanns have disposed of the body) if they did accidentally kill her and how in the world could they have kept the secret for over 7 years? It would have been far easier to have admitted accidental death surely, but no matter how much evidence does point their way I can't get my head around the fact that she's never been found if it was them, they would have had very little time between death (if so) and to have successfully hid the body in a place they didn't even know.
Keep in mind paedo's abduct kids and successfully keep them locked up for years without trace, Fritzel, Ariel Castrol etc. One thing is for sure, they do know more than what they peddle to the media and Gerry is one shifty looking fella, only have to watch his body language closely when interviewed. All questions should be answered, he avoids them. |

The numerous anomalies and inconsistencies in the McCanns' version of events leads people to query their role in all this. There always seems to be a large piece of the jigsaw missing and unfortunately a lot of people think the McCanns know quite a bit about where that piece is.

CMAT. Is that link you've put up supposed to be an unbiased assessment of the evidence?
I have read as far as the end of paragraph four and it strikes me that it is nothing short of libellous. I'm not surprised that somebody said he was taken to court over it. He says they were made 'suspects' (aguido) and that some time later there were not. Fine...they are no longer 'aguido'. He states that the police always strongly suspect the parents in abduction cases. Fine...he suspected them. He questioned them. He found no evidence. Perhaps if he (Columbo) had kept a more open mind and treated this as a missing child case from the 'off' he might have made more progress. As for the McCanns being unhelpful...How many times would one need to be told "We know you did it. Where did you hide the body?" before you reply 'No comment'? I didn't read any further as I didn't see the point. If any of this document actually IS evidence, then I have no doubt that it will be in the hands of the police in two countries who have not, as yet, acted upon it. |

I tend to agree with Scandinavian Haven's sentiments, posted above. Even though the sniffer dogs' reactions in the apartment and car makes me highly suspicious of the McCanns, it's hard to explain how they could have successfully hidden a body under such circumstances.

It's hard to explain from many aspects.

This internet abuse story is just another example of the unfathomable support they receive. As with any hotly debated subject there are a few nuts on both sides who go way over the top. Quite why Sky News decided to have this as one of their lead stories when there are a few notable things going on in the world and then do it in such a one-sided, unbalanced way is anyone's guess

This is why I don't normally post in a thread about the McCanns. Far too many dickheads wishing them ill for going out for a meal on holiday but checking up regularly - something that many parents have done over the years - on the sleeping children. They will have to live the rest of their lives regretting doing that and will always have my upmost sympathy. People who are glad that they are being abused are beyond contempt. Last post on this thread for me as I can imagine the replies from said people people who go out for a meal / drinks while leaving their young children unattended somewhere else are not fit to be parents, END OF!! |

Heres a video you won't see on mainstream TV

This case really does bring out he worst in some people. The undisguised self righteous glee of these trolls is nauseating. You suspect that if it wasn't this case it'd be another they'd be getting their kicks out of.

Even though the sniffer dogs' reactions in the apartment and car makes me highly suspicious of the McCanns, it's hard to explain how they could have successfully hidden a body under such circumstances. It's not a case of the dogs just finding a scent. It's that they were there at apartment 5A at separate times, and both found the scent they were trained to find, one for 'blood' and the other for 'death', in the same place, where the skirting board joined the floorboards, behind a settee which the McCanns say had never been moved. |

36. Dr Gerry McCann’s brother immediately giving up his full-time job to help with the fund-raising company
Dr Gerry McCann’s brother, John McCann, immediately gave up his full-time job with a pharmaceuticals company, despite having a house, wife and children to support. This might seem like a selfless, generous act. But we might ask: How did John McCann know in advance that Madeleine wouldn't be found within the next few days or weeks, leaving himself ‘high and dry’ with no job, if she was found? It strongly suggests that he, too, knew that Madeleine would not be found. It must be emphasised that he did not say that he had taken ‘temporary leave of absence’ from his job. He had chosen to resign. |

Granicking. I'm never too happy about just accepting what somebody else says or writes. I must say that I find your choice of the word 'immediately' a bit dubious. Then again, I find lots of things a bit dubious.

Well, that 55k will make a very useful addition to their 'find Maddie' fund. At least it's gone to a good cause.

![]() Tongue in cheek surely? You missed off a smiley again, naydam? |
|
By:
Not this time. If people or the Press (particularly the Press) want to publish defamatory statements like accusing somebody of withholding details of a child's disappearance, then they had better be able to produce the evidence to back it up.
It was probably more of a ploy just to sell more papers so those damages, or whatever, should have been ten times that amount otherwise the paper (or whoever) will simply do the same again. You can't just say things about people because you feel like it. You must allow that they will respond. |

What evidence is there she is alive? I know it is difficult for parents to accept the death of the daughter But I never seen anyone go to lengths the McCanns have done it does not entirely make sense to me????? The psychology of it does not seem clear to me. |

listen the facts are simple, had they been fit and proper parents (and actually looked after their children) Madeline would still be with them
it is tragic what happened but the bottom line is it happened because of their actions on that night |
|
By:
^ And that's if you buy their own version that the child was kidnapped of which there is zero evidence.
|
|
By:
spot on pf
they could have saved themselves all the heartache, all the pain, and all the negative twittery by the simple expedient of looking after their children properly. And that really is that. |
|
By:
I should make it clear that I don't believe for a second that they were in any way directly responsible for the little girl's disappearance and/or demise.

By:
I know it is difficult for parents to accept the death of the daughter
But I never seen anyone go to lengths the McCanns have done it does not entirely make sense to me????? blue, God forbid But if I had a child missing and there was million to one chance she was still alive ,I and most would go to the ends of the earth in our Search .. Agree its The Mcann's fault ,Never the less what has happened, happened ,but anyone spouting abuse at them is a sick individual who must lead a very sad life ... |
|
By:
That is undeniably true casemoney, it's just the hide of them that gets me.
Their daughter is gone because of their own neglect, you'd think they would want to keep themselves under the radar in this country. I can understand them wanting to keep the case high-profile in Portugal but can they seriously believe that anyone would steal their child and bring it here? The fact remains that if this had happened here, they would be not much further up the scale of public disgust than Mick Philpott, and would probably have faced prosecution. It is a measure of their actions at the time and subsequently that a couple who have lost one of their children can face so much public disdain, not a measure of the degradation of this country's moral compass. |
|
By:
Still no evidence the child was kidnapped.

Nor any that she wasn't. And you can be pretty sure the Portuguese Police were desperate to prove the parents were responsible.
It's got to be about opinion I suppose Wesdag, mine is they went out to dinner, left her alone, and someone took her. Yours isn't, I respect that. |
