They won't fight fair and square, they split up and hide. Damned inconsiderate if you ask me. There's quite a few of them though, and one missile to blooter only two is going to add up to a lotta dollars. |

It is not the Muslims who are the savages here it is us We believe we will only get peace if we kill all Muslims Muslims are pacifists compared to us upside down thinking to conform this I only have to read this forum total ignorance and bigotry abounds Are you sure you are not looking in the mirror? |
|
By:
EbulGery sometimes you have to gird your loins. It seems to me you are so set to be anti Blair that you won't take each case on its merit.
I'm all for the rights of individuals and for all to have a fair crack of the whip, but there's a difference between that and being Lilly livered. Where is the Isis court of appeal? There isn't one is there ffs? These people don't care about justice they care about their distorted view of religion. If they want ****, we are the ones that will give em it, if not for the other religious entities at least for secularism. |

for all your good intentions ebul you'd end up getting your own throat cut due to gullibility. that is an interesting post, rather like that poster who fell into a state of panic after seeing an Isis flag in E.London yesterday amazingly I do not believe Isis will cut my throat while I am in bed tonight ![]() That is because I have retained some grip on reality |

A question, what is democracy?
I would say it is when a country chooses its own government? But you see Iraq have not chosen theirs have they? we chose it for them which I am afraid is NOT democratic We invaded their country killing a large number of people, and said, at the point of a gun, sometimes literally "You either accept the government we have decided for you..or we will blow your head off" that is hardly democratic is it? It is not a lot better than saying convert to "Sunni Muslim or die"...and surely we do not think that is democratic? ![]() |
|
By:
Democracy is not when a country. decides its own government. It is essentially a set of ideas and
exists irrespective of a countries borders. It can be jmposed eg it was imposed on Japan and Germany after WW2 |

yes alias
democracy definition a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting control of an organization or group by the majority of its members. there are a few others...but none have anything to do with a countries values other than perhaps the peoples right to chose |
|
By:
Just because people vote in a country does not make it a democracy. Certain values must follow
If we take Germany eg after the war the east had communism imposed (and they had the vote ) and the west had democracy imposed and also had the vote. |

What ebul dosn't understand is that in these countries the average person dosn't want a Sunii islamic state. They are at the mercy of barbaric and bloodthirsty people who see a chance for power. It is always the same when yhe uneducated masses get control. Make no mistake this can happen anywhere in the world. somewhat elitist...and a big problem with that is our leaders are not very well educated themselves are they? or have any great intelligence, we are not governed by anyone I would describe as an elite but my point I think what you will find most of these people want to live in a society of peace, law and order so they can live their daily lives....without being in constant fear of their lives, women have a choice of colours Now Saddam Hussein gave them that, albeit at some cost in what we would call human rights Also if you remember Saddam was neither a religious nut(although he was Sunni biased) or a misogynist He ruled by the Cult Of Personality...himself Also what you fail to see, these people are best ruled by an Alpha ruler, the strongest, although they may disagree which one Our voting system is useless to them, there is no control, law or order....so we commit a crime when we force it on them I would say almost certainly most Iraqis would much prefer Saddam to Isis |

The reason Isis is there is because of the democracy we forced on them
|
|
By:
Since the West will not permit Iraq to have an Alpha ruler
the best solution I believe is partition, Sunni, Shia and Kurd although I suspect there may be some argument over who gets the oil wells but if we can work that one out, I feel it is the answer |
|
By:
Also what you fail to see, these people are best ruled by an Alpha ruler, the strongest
ebul, for me that is what our western leaders fail to understand. Put simply, in most of the middle east, for centuries it has been the hardest guy who owned the biggest stick who ruled, and the people who he ruled accepted that. Saddam is a prime example. It may be alien to us, and so is the behaviour of ISIS, but that was what Europe was like in the middle ages. |

to have the voting system we have, there need to a certain stability in society and people themselves must want it...it cannot be imposed.....we have just seen the result The problem is, I think we do see it, but wont see it...because this is all about US imperialism ![]() The military power the US now has, has tempted them to impose their idea of society on everyone else. The reason they do this, is they see the rest of the world as a menu they can exploit there is no expansion left in their own country. Foolishly our leaders follow, they have not noticed we are also on the menu , even if near the bottom. But US interference in the Middle East has caused a humanitarian disaster. I hope they stop doing this. People that argue that small Eastern Countries threaten us have completely lost touch with reality. They simply do not have the weapons we have, they might as well have spears. |
|
By:
I noticed earlier that somebody (EbulGery I think) said that it is always the big aggressor who attacks the smaller one. Difficult to apply those facts when noting the Japanese attack on the USA, or Britain's attack on Germany in WW2. Or even Germany declaring war against the USA.
It is definitely not always the big boy's fault. Also, somebody said that Isis (and perhaps the rest of the Middle East) aren't a threat to us. They certainly are! Our country would collapse without supplies of oil. We cannot cede control of those facilities to any Tom, D1ck or Isis who fancies holding us to ransom. ![]() |

By:
Sadam murdered thousands of his own people, revelled in watching videos of his enemies being slowly tortured and launched chemical weapons
against Kurdish Iraqis who got out of line. Muslim countries don't need to be run by such a disturbed individual to be kept in line. |
|
By:
Well I agree with your last paragraph Naydam, but I do not see why we have to impose war to do this.
Much simpler to just pay for it surely? Unfortunately it seems they do Ricki |
|
By:
If we had not been so obsessed with taking down Saddam, I believe we could have worked on him.
We could have protected the Kurds without taking Saddam down. Yes he had a constant battle with the Shias, they did a habit of disappearing. I am not defending his human rights record, it was appalling. But if we had used sanctions correctly, not just to take him down, who knows The chief thing most Iraqis could live normal peaceful lives, much harder now, women only get to war black now. ^^^^ I don't think you see the importance of this |
|
By:
Your first paragraph Naydam
big aggressor...is not necessarily a countries size...but a countries military capabilities Japan did think they could beat America, slight misjudgement I know, they did not start the war to lose Our declaration of war on Germany with France, was a necessity, we feared Germanys growing power and intentions, with good cause In fact Britain and France should have been a match for Germany. It was only when war started, we discovered we were not. ![]() I do not really believe that any middle Eastern country thinks it can take down the US, well not if it is sane. |
|
By:
Japans intentions was not actually to invade America. They thought if they inflicted a heavy defeat
on America...they would be left to do what they wanted in their area of the World. America had been issuing warnings to them. They thought teaming up with Germany was a good idea, because they thought Germany were winning, they were at the time. It looked as if Russia was very close to collapse at the time. Another misjudgement, Russia held. |

You and your anti israeli friends are part of the problem. Attitudes like yours from guardianista land shows weakness and only encourages terrorist islamists.

dont be silly.
the 'west' and the elite of this sick world are playing war games for their own benefit. It's called divide and rule, a very old form of getting your enemies fighting one another and then cleaning up the pieces and making profits from the deaths of both sides. Most people just arrogantly assume the usa and uk etc are the good guys which is total bollox. The world is at the mercy of a greater force than that provided by sham western democracy or muslim terrorism. The hypocrisy though of the west is staggering, and although we have created ISIS in the 1st place, we will now see every fecking news item dedicated to their every act while ignoring our own part in fecking up the world and most of all, the innocent people of the world. |
|
By:
but then perhaps you are gullible enough to believe the usa are continually bombing every country they dont like to 'help' the ordinary people in the street!!
|
|
By:
Tony assuming your analysis is correct what would you do to resolve the present problems .
What are your solutions? |
|
By:
well, perhaps it's actually too late considering I believe the powers that eb actually want war in order to serve their own purposes, i e they will do everything possible to get the various factions fighting one another, its been done throughout history. It's hardly likely to change now. Read up on albert pike etc. What I worry about most of all though is our willingness to believe everything we're told about whats going on around us.
Everyone lies, continually, its the way of the world. What Im basically saying, epicurean is, I dont think there's a solution! |
|
By:
and people shouldnt have a go at ebul hes possibly the most peace-loving person on here!
|
|
By:
On that basis we'd never do anything again.
Everything based on its own merit. Yes contrived western societies made a rod for their own back, does that mean there will never be a position that the west have to take in the future then as a result? I suspect you are suggesting that what's happening in Iraq is fabrication and that whoever were responsible for Isis gaining a foothold shouldn't worry because it's all been photoshopped? |
|
By:
Tony ,which political system would you suggest is used to replace western democracy which you apparently disdain?
|

You and your anti israeli friends are part of the problem. Attitudes like yours from guardianista land shows weakness and only encourages terrorist islamists. I am inclined to disagree I think it us killing Muslims which encourages terrorism Also why has parliament not been recalled to see what and if we can do anything We are giving humanitarian aid......but we could offer more protection to the Yazidi Christians ad Kurds yet we are reluctant This is the same Cameron who wanted us to attack Assad in Syria His policy seem to be attack and kill Muslims but we can't intervene to protect anyone what sort of policy is that? On a humanitarian level I cannot agree with this policy |
|
By:
The whole trouble with all of this..is that out government are never truthful with us
their real motives are hidden from us...which we all have to guess(unless you are soft enough to believe them) Now the cold war with Russia has been officially restarted(god knows why??) We may have calculated we actually need Isis believe it or notI wish we would just keep things simple, and stick to the moral high ground but our politicians will never do it |
|
By:
the muslim fighters are flexing their muscles everywhere or had you not noticed ebul
don't obfuscate by wandering off into the politics of who to blame!! they are killing so many it makes gaza look like a tea party your obsessing and apparent siding with the critics and opponents of Israel only emboldens these muslims if muslims think this is the response of the west then no wonder they feel further empowered |
|
By:
i don't advocate any 'political' system because they're all - without exception - immoral and self centred, and as for western democracy, there is no democracy. Not as far as u s foreign policy is concerned. They have proved themselves over and over to be totally corrupt and have been ever since they dropped an atom bomb on innocent people.
However...as I keep mentioning, the real worry comes from those who really decide world affairs, because they want a decrease in world population. |
