Surprised Muse - Plug in Baby was omitted. I suppose Highway Star was left out on the grounds that the big guitar bit is more a solo than an actual riff. Tough choice but in the end I plumped for Motorcycle Emptiness.

A helluva lot of good ones on that list. I probably couldn't decide between 10-15 of them.
"Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie a shocking omission though. Not the biggest Bowie fan, but that's a stonker of an opening riff. |

Hard to beat Johnny B Goode as a guitar riff, just about every guitarist has copied Chuck Berry licks at sometime or other, even though he stole it from a piano lick in the first place :)
