trilby the independence question is nothing to do with Salmond or Sturgeon or the SNP, its about the future of Scotland.
It is about whether you want to be ruled by a right-wing government in London, elected overwhelmingly by southern england, or do you want to have more say in what kind of country Scotland should be? |
|
By:
The reality and the implications of having your own currency or the Euro is frightening Salmond and with good cause.
|
|
By:
how's joining euro frightening?
|

By:
Independent, trilby.
If you can take off your royal blue tinted specs for a minute, try to answer my earlier question: Why do the tories want Scotland, when they could win every general election without us? Obviously Labour need our Westminster seats, but WHY DO THE TORIES WANT US? As for Michael Kelly, he should check out http://www.labourforindy.com/ LONG way to go. |

Scotland -YES vote holding firm after Osbornes outburst

Not surprised, xmoneyx. Have you considered that it might be a double bluff?
|
|
By:
I'll have you know I used to be a Jambo, Alias & my royal blue tinties have nothing to do with my allegiance to the greatest country in the world, aka the UNITED Kingdom.
I love Scotland with all my heart - that's why I live here. You tell me why the Tories want us? |

NO, you weren't a Hearts man, or you still would be, and you are the unionist, so tell me why the tories want us. Greatest country in the world? By what measure? |
|
By:
tories only party in Scotland to ever have 50%+ of vote general election
as they moved further right ended up decimated |
|
By:
What part of the country are you in, Alias? I'm in Perth. Fancy a blether over a pint sometime?
|
|
By:
Edinburgh. Care to give us some answers?
|
|
By:
xmoney, you're going back to the fifties. Folk are smarter now.
|
|
By:
Don't be too bitter about the Tories, Alias - Labour are worse.
I visit Edinburgh quite often. It would be my pleasure to buy you a pint and have a good discussion - we might actually like each other. Don't get me wrong here, I'm in the NO POOFTERS club ![]() Yes, I was a Jambo from approx 1982 thru 1993. I lived in far off lands ... |
|
By:
... and by the way, I felt the pain of 1987 when Celtic pipped us / you for the league.
|
|
By:
I'm not bitter, I'm working class and I hate tories, including T Blair.
Please answer my questions, and TtO's as well. Oh, and you've NEVER been a Hearts man or you still would be, so don't give me that keech. |

Hi Alias, sorry to go off subject but I saw your post on s.k's thread. My heart goes out to you. In my lifetime I've lost my father and that was a blow. Having said that, I have no idea how I would cope with what happened to you/your wife.
Best wishes for the future. |

Anyways, getting back to the subject in hand. Personally, as a Scotsman, I think it would be a disaster to leave the UK. Salmond is the biggest egoistical, arrogant, smiling buffoon, (especially when he gets asked a question in 'hollyrude') that has (dis) graced this country.
Too many reasons to post, but there's no way that *unt will ever put a Euro in my pocket. I'd rather move south. HTH. |

poll out tonight
YES vote up to 40.8% since Osborne made statement NO 44.5% UNDECIDED 14.7% |
|
By:
First Option: Scotland should have a chat with Scando countries, Norwegian krone, Swedish krona, Danish krone + Scottish Crùn.
Second Euro: Tied to Germany or tied to England, you can argue over the details but its much of the same. |

GREAT Britain is a big enough minnow to deal with any $hit that gets thrown our way. That's why we have a nuclear deterrent.
Explain "GREAT" please. Nuclear deterrent, based in Scotland. Will never be used and in an independent Scotland our share of the immense cost could be put to very good use. |

Never mind the referendum vote, I was in Glasgow last week and when my breakfast came i couldn't find any sausages. Apparently what they call sausages is this kind of square sausage which i would call vegetable roll.
|

By:
That's Ms stew just off to do the weekly shop. She used to leave about 7.45am to avoid the traffic. Not any more as I like to get a couple of cases of lager on deal to stock up. This dictorial *unt in his wisdom decided that us Scots can't buy alcohol until 10am. No health reason involved whatsoever, if someone wants to have a drink at say 6am in the morning there's nothing the wee phucker can do to prevent it.
Just a small example of the red tape and to follow if it's a yes vote. Thankfully the betting suggests otherwise on here, but that could change. What a conniving and cynical basturd he is giving 16 and 17 year olds a vote. Very convenient you may think, but it will come back to bite him on the @rse. (NAP) (FIVE STARS) |

Great was added to differential from the original French Bretagne, the French kings who walked into southern England's original Britain (or Bretagne in french) |
|
By:
Come off it stewarty, Salmond didn't give Scotland it's curious licensing rules, they've always been strange. Still, if access to alcohol is such an issue for you, bear in mind that water is more important to life, and no one in Scotland has a water meter in their home, unlike other parts of the UK. Your hatred for Salmond is hard to understand though. Maybe YOU are the rangers fan in the England top.
paddletoe, you were served sliced sausage, aka lorne sausage. we also have more typical types of sausage. |
|
By:
Yes Alias, apparently the normal type of sausage is called a links sausage. I got this thing which looked like a white pudding but there were currants in it. That was very nice indeed.
