Come on then educate us all, prove to us that there is no God. I`m open to intelligent persuasion.

To blame religion for the world`s problems is sheer nonsense. Religions have indeed been hijacked by zealots but I think the majority of Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Bhudists, etc, etc are peace loving people. The cause of all the world`s problems is greed.

Going by the arrogance of your posts, you are just as fanatical about your atheism as a Jehovah Witness is about his beliefs. A mere observation. I respect your non belief as much as I respect a religious persons beliefs, but I don`t want brainwashed by either of your warped views which are based on pure guesswork. We should all be tolerant of each other.

I'm not religious in the slightest, and is it really about proving there is no god? Many christian charities are doing wonderful things around the world while governments seem to think the only solution is to go to war.

religion and politics should be a private matter. Once people have made up their minds then 99.9% will stick the that view and nothing can change it that's why there are so many bloody arguments on both subjects.

To believe in a creator is a plausible position to take,  I suppose. To believe in a religion which presumes to take its teachings directly from a supreme being is ridiculous.

"bigmo..............none of that makes religon true"

I couldn't agree more cardifffc. As I said I'm not religious in the slightest but I just wanted to make the point that all the sh*t that is thrown at religion some of those religions are out and making a difference.
Making a difference when it comes to politicians well, don't hold your breath.

The only way to do that would be to support the dominant religion to kill off the lesser religions and then kill off the dominant religion.  Difficult to say what the latter is in the UK these days.  Muslim?  Catholic (mainly Polish)?  Anglican with an Evangelical/African Animist core?  I'm game if you can figure out what's what.  Can I still worship an impressive local tree?
