happening all over the country apparently. Big one in Glasgow.
Looking at the photos they all have a common thyme. Beardies, left wing crustries, activists, anarchists, union leaders, the great unwashed, and students of all ages doing useless degrees. Doubt if many of them have ever done a decent days work in their lives. What? So no bankers there then? |

Doubt if many of them have ever done a decent days work in their lives.
I left school at fifteen. Worked all my life, hated Thatcher for 35 years. The world seems a cleaner place tonight. |

Here here

By:
I hope they aren't hung over at work tomorrow

To be fair, she was a politician, and like all politician, she was scum. Street parties for the death of Neil Kinnock, or Big Tony will be just as valid.
By:
Paradox no they WON'T
By:
Street parties to celebrate an 87 year old woman death is among the scummiest thing on earth to do. Even Hindley didn't get this treatment.
By:
yeah, she did. especially in the tory press.
By:
Up yours treble. People celebrated the deaths of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco. What's the difference?
By:
I think there is a fair difference between Thatcher and Hitler.
By:
If only everyone reacted like they did when Kim Il-sung died!

Betting without the moustache?
By:
ffs, treble, haven't you heard? there's no such thing as society - just individuals and families.
she's not me and she's not family, so why should I give a sh!t? |
By:
It matters not what you think. Hated people die, those whose lives they damaged REJOICE.
EAT IT. ![]() |
By:
Exactly, so why have street parties. If it doesn't matter, just ignore it and go about your daily business. No need for street parties ffs!
By:
why not?
by her own words they owe her nothing, so why shouldn't they party? |
By:
Watching the news now on tv.
they're showing the poll tax riot vid. Another load of soap dodgers smashing the city of london up. No signing on that day? Police should have cs'd them. Then brought out the water canons to give them their first wash in months. |
By:
Now the odious Livingstone on the tv, giving his 2 bob views
By:
So, you agreed with Poll Tax then?
By:
Now interviewing Gerry Adams that well known friend of the UK and its people.
He didn't like her much! |
By:
Anyway, I thought that signing on soap dodgers were created by Gordon Brown and didn't exist in the wonderful Thatcher era.
By:
I'm beginning to feel the media did not like Maggie ? now that's a surprise!
However, she was popular with world leaders past and present - ( Ken Livingstone and George Galloway excluded of course) |
By:
Just to report, I live in ex mining town. Fireworks lighting up the sky.A lovely sight on a great day.
By:
I did not realise until today she was a supporter of apartheid in South Africa and called Nelson Mandella a terrorist.
By:
as a scotsman that grew up during the entire era of maggie & loathed her & her policies i am still sickened by these so called "celebrations"
just no need at this particular time. she was out of power years ago so this makes no sense |
By:
I suppose the BBC will be having their own (tax funded) party later.
By:
I should think so too.
By:
I'm out in the sticks and I've heard fireworks tonight, could be a coincidence I suppose
By:
Livingstone, Galloway, Frankie Boyle are all REJOICING the death of Thatch!
Just about sums up the level of the people who hated Thatcher. Is that the best the TV people can do? Is there no one of any significance they can interview other than these odious characters? Meanwhile the world leaders inc Obama send their condolences. Telling us she was a 'great' lady. Now who do I believe? Red Ken, Georgie Boy etc - or the worlds leaders? Thats' a toughie if you are brain dead |
By:
northanlite
You have been drowned out by the nutters but a lone voice speaking against this vile behaviour is still welcome. I wonder if some of these people have any understanding of what they are saying and doing? Comparing her to people like Hitler just leaves me speechless. Some people opposed her policies which is natural in a democracy but to show this level of animosity anywhere let alone on one of the most rampant examples of capitalism you will find is just bizarre. |
By:
I seem to remember some of the rejoicing posts on here when Chavez died recently, and he did nothing against anyone in Britain.
get over it! |
By:
Kinnock sticking the boot in now.
You remember Kinnock? The guy who went to Brussels on the Euro gravy train, employed his family, made millions. You know, that lad from the valleys |
By:
happy when chavez died
happy when pinochet died happy when saddam died happy when thatcher died no intention of "showing any respect" for any of them, because I don't feel any and think the world would have been a better place without any of them having existed. |
By:
& the country is to blame for Thatcher getting a third term in office, when he was the alternative?
Give me strength. |
By:
They're mighty big judgements you're making there Viva
By:
yep, no problem with that.
she basically stood for the class war, did stuff that destroyed the lives of people I cared about, I'm happy she's dead, and I'm not going to be browbeaten into pretending anything else in the name of spurious morality. I just wish it had been sooner, that's all. |
By:
eternaloptinist
she was very very devise and so while her support of pinochet, south africa etc was disgusting to me she was also a human being and a mother. i rejoiced when she was out of office but she has not been involved in front line politics for years so i can't for the life of me understand anyone getting any pleasure from her death. very distasteful imo. |
By:
happy when chavez died
happy when pinochet died happy when saddam died happy when thatcher died Lumping Thatcher in with those? I can't even lower myself to this level of debate. Uni student by any chance?? |
