I think that bloke lived on Fray Bentos pies! Paultadhunter was very good value.
Losing Londis Lagerhound was a big loss to the forum, he was the resident pc guru and an alround good egg. |

Londis did return but not sure if he is here anymore. Dk1986 think worked in a betting shop in carlisle, did return under another name but then hasnt posted much in the last year or so.
Dml hasnt posted for a while but he regularly disappears then returns. Poolrc another one who will suddenly post after a 12 month absence. |

used to be an oldboy on the greyhound forum must have been 80 ish but cant remember his name had some great old stories,probs dust and bones now though.
people also forget that many just do their conkers never to return,gawd knows how many were banned. met a guy at chelters few yrs back at the bar and fell into convo and he was a poster paul something or other. |

BonVivvy, there were two old boys on the greyhound forum that you describe Mr.Memory and Whitmarsh.
Mr.Memory had quite astonishing stories to tell, he was working at White City stadium before WW2. He had an incredible knowledge of the history of that sport and also horse racing and I loved reading his tales. Greyhound racing used to get crowds of 80,000-100,000 in those days, seems quite incredible now thinking about it. I do pop in there quite often and I'm afraid to say I haven't seen Mr.Memory nor Whitmarsh post for quite awile. The pair of them would be well into their 90's now so fear they have no doubt left this mortal coil. |

Cheers, Rob. The reason I post less nowadays is that I've started working more and gambling less. Don't see myself leaving permanently as Chit Chat is too interesting to me. I love analysing how different people think so differently.

Thanks for that Dan, I do know you pop into the doggie forum as well as myself and have read their stories like I have over the years. That is sad news as they both used to post often so can only assume they are not well or have passed away. |
