fancy devon/ cornwall, anywhere to be honest, to rent a cottage/ even nice b and b , in a nice little village, newsagent , tea room, pub, and walking distance from a nice sandy beach.

For what it is now worth, Lynmouth is utterly perfect in so many ways it is barely believable you are in this country! |

yeah,loads in the south west .
on the east coast you could try Southwold ,but still not worth the high price tag all these places are far too expensive though |

anywhere in the northwest of scotland. and there's a few thousand miles of coastline to choose from. it's one of the sunniest parts of the UK.

Winterton-on-Sea, 8 miles from Yarmouth but a million miles away in other respects.
google it - there is a village website. Lots of SC properties and the pub does B&B too. vast sandy beach and dunes, beach cafe - open for breakfast, fish n chip shop, Fisherman's Return pub - good food, recently refurbished accommodation, has its own website too, Post Office/newsagent that sells everything and another store. easy for touring the rest of the Norfolk coast and the broads. V dog friendly - so if you hate dogs . . . |

I believe that shokking ommishun is the correct terms. You're wrong on at least one front though. Filey? Really? Its chief attraction is a windswept caravan park. On the plus side, when my now dear departed grandmother was in hospital in Brid, she and the old gal in the bed next to her managed to work out that they'd played against each other in the late 70s/early 80s in a club match between Filey and Scarborough South Cliff. Grannies never forget! |

Norfolk is a bad idea. Covered in caravans and the sea is always half a mile walk away.
