Just after coming back from helping put my little cat to sleep for the last time. It was very tough but the kindest thing to do as there were no options left. We found him under the car one day 15 years ago and took him home with the intention of cleaning all the oil from him and feeding him up but he has been with us since then. I will probably have some more cries today. Not so much sadness but more thinking of all the many moments of happiness he has given us and shared with us.
RIP little soldier. |

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that, paddletoe.
They become very much part of the family, and as such when they die it affects you accordingly. I was distraught when I lost Cleo about 6 years ago. My commiserations. |

Hi Kenny,
Would like to ask your opinion on cat nutrition for peace of mind really. Since the ginger Tom was taken away, the whiskas wet food has hardly been touched. Nimmers is just eating Purina dried food.I tried him on canned tuna which he ate a couple of times and now leaves untouched too. It's probable that ginger was eating all the Whiskas himself. My question is, "does the dry food constitute a complete diet and is it sufficient on it's own without supplement?" He certainly feels and looks well fed and is often out on patrol so I'm not overly worried about him, but thought I should check. |

Foinavon, I'm far from an expert on nutritional value in cat's food. However for what it's worth I feed mine a mixture of wet and dried. I get the wet food in pouches, Purina gourmet Perle (the one with 12 pouches and a white cat on the box)and Purina dried. I get the 800g bag (dark blue)of dried food with the over 7 years version for the old lady. They seem to prefer pouches to tinned cat food.
Canned tuna is not good for cats, except for maybe a change once in a while. They do love it but best to limit. Google cats canned tuna. Good luck, you're playing a blinder. ![]() |

Thanks Kenny, I'm giving him the dried food from the Purina blue pack for adult cats. It does say it's a complete food even though it looks a bit bland. He definitely enjoys eating it so he's the best judge. I will stop putting down the tuna for him, he's not all that interested in it anyway. He's sitting in my garden at the moment in ambush mode but he's too slow to catch birds now. He does occasionally bring home dead mice and young rats so he's earning his keep.
Thanks once again, you have put my mind at rest. ![]() |

You're very welcome mate. All 3 of mine seem to really like the Purina dried, and the 2 neighbouring ccats who come sniffing around. You can get much more expensive dried food, such as Smith's prescription Diet, but also much cheaper ones too. It's pretty good quality (i think)

Kenny - I thought you'd like to hear this. I asked my boy what he would like when his trach comes out. He told me using his sign language that he wants an orange cat
