I'm just listening to Three Little Birds at the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIjkW6iyXNo&feature=related How can you not bounce in your chair when listening to this?! |

Don't worry about a thing, Tommy

By the way, Brush was the biggest Bob Marley fan I've ever known. I don't think he ever listened to anything other than Bob's music!

I think that's my favourite song by him.

Only just been able to see your post, as usual!
Great choice. Especially for Brush. He was very much of that way of thinking. |
|

Jamming. They don't make them like that nowadays, Tommy. This one's not strictly reggae, but I know they were heavily influenced by reggae... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fXzgRQ5eX4 |

You can't beat a bit of reggae...listen to Garnet Silk if you like Bob Marley.
|
|
By:
I liked that too, Alex.

Are we calling this reggae or ska? Either way, it's a great song by the Specials, performing it on TOGWT in '79: A Message To You Rudi

And here's UB40 in '81 singing 'One In Ten' referring to one of Thatcher's nonsenses at the time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9g0L3L5oeA&feature=related Brush looked very like a thinner Ali Campbell, Alex. |

I used to be mad on ub40..shame they morphed into a covers band.

Nice one Tommy, Barbara.
'Sometimes I feel I don't exist' - pretty much summed up the plight of millions in the 80s Still, the music of the people that've been on this thread'll live on far longer than Thatcher ever will |
|
By:
Yes it will, thank goodness, Alex.

For 'the devil', Tommy, read 'Margaret Thatcher & the Tories'

It's definitely best if you name the song and artist when you post, or most people (me included) rarely look at links (unless I'm having a conversation with someone at the time). That way, more people will contribute Alex.

The vocal on that Eek A Mouse tune is tremendous
