Be fair lads 'n lasses. If Nadal, Djokovic, Federer & Ferrer all got injured at the same time, I reckon he would have an even money chance of winning a slam, or am I being overly optimistic?

Our ever patriotic standard bearer has announced he will be injured in four weeks time and unable to play in the Davis Cup, given that he currently feels "sore".
Well, smack my *rse and call me Judy. |

Andy Murray will miss Britain's Davis Cup match against Slovakia next month after sustaining "a few injuries" during his run to the Australian Open semifinals. The fourth-ranked Murray, who lost to eventual winner Novak Djokovic in a five-set match in Melbourne, says it is "probably a sensible decision" to pull out of the zonal group matches ahead of a busy year that also includes the London Olympics. With Britain's leading player missing, captain Leon Smith selected James Ward, Dan Evans, Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins for the Feb. 10-12 match in the first round of Euro/Africa Zone Group I. The match will be played in Glasgow.
so much for copying Djokovic's sense of national pride. maybe he'll be trying a gluten-free diet next. btw, NIL |

Andy Murray: The $20million man
By Eurosport | Tramlines – Mon, Feb 27, 2012 21:16 GMT Murray currently stands at number 12 on the all-time money list (see below), but he should be cracking the top 10 very soon. Andy Roddick currently holds 10th spot, but given their respective form in recent seasons and the fact that Murray is less than $500,000 behind the American, it is not unreasonable to expect him to overtake the former US Open winner before the year is out. Inflation obviously plays a big role when you try and interpret the all-time money list but there is already a strong case to be made for saying that Murray, who let us not forget is still only 24, is the greatest player of all time never to win a Grand Slam. He has already racked up 22 career titles, which means that in the Open era, Brian Gottfried (25) is the only player who has won more without claiming a Slam. Murray has played in three Grand Slam finals too while Gottfried only reached one — the 1977 French Open final where he was served up two bagels in a 6-0 6-3 6-0 defeat by Guillermo Vilas. Unsurprisingly, Murray is comfortably the highest earner never to have won a Slam — with Nikolay Davydenko his closest rival nearly $5m back. Basically, any way you look at it, Murray has had a sensational career and given his age, there should be plenty more to come. |

Journey, who gives a fack how much money he's earned (apart from you)?
the important statistic is number of grand slams won which, incidentally, stands at: NIL |
|
By:
He is breaking all kinds of records as a player never to win a slam. Excellent news, turns out we were not being misled into believing the headline figure
of (wait for it) ... NONE |

Considering this thread has been going for over 3 annums now, the OP's foresight has to be acknowledged that Mr Muzza would go on to become the World's finest in the 0 Grand Slams won stakes.
Congratulations to him, with special mention for Mr Mugray who has played his part fantastically. May many more Slams elude him in the future, in a sort of plucky but ultimately empty manner. |
|
By:
In fairness, not predictions as to the future were made by OP. He just set up a useful aide memoir to NAdy's running Grand Slam totals.

By:
What is the total, btw?

Money is such a pish argument for Andy Muggay fans
Many National Hunt horses have earned more money than Arkle did. The Giant Bolster earned more for coming second in the Gold Cup, an amount more than Arkle earned in his career including wins in three Gold Cups, A King George, two Hennesseys and an Irish National Does that make The Giant Bolster a better horse than Arkle ever was? ![]() p.s. still 0 |
