To be fair to Cath, panic has become a default response these days, I think because mass communication is so instantaneous and often therefore, ill-considered and inaccurate. The Zeitgeist has always had an apocalyptic undertone and now we seem to be constantly searching for some cataclysmic event. This is, of course, a self-fulfilling quest  |

Governments are damned when they do, and damned when they don't when it comes to mass-innoculations. The people making the decisions know bum all about what they're talking about, and the big pharma companies don't know that much more.
Get the decision right, and no-one thanks you for it. Get it wrong, and people either die of the original illness, or suffer from severe side-effects from vaccines/treatments. Governments tend to overreact just to be seen to be doing something. |
