I told you yesterday cath, you need to relax a bit.

Even if you're fears were well founded, and they're not, there isn't any point in all this worrying.

On north-west news now.
"A passenger FELL ILL on a flight back from Mexico, she was taken home in an ambulance where she's being monitored by her GP. She's being described as being quite well".

WHERE is the story in this?

Local news full of panic mongering too.

Would now be a good time to buy a shotgun, grow a beard, start making pipe-bombs, crack open the neighbours heads and feast on the gloop inside?

STOP IT. I'm being serious now. You're getting hysterical.

Why are you talking about deaths? No one has dies outside of Mexico A: YET . and even some of those are old people who could have died from complications/other conditions.A: ALSO ALOT OF YOUNG HEALTHY ADULTS - READ ABOUT THE SPANISH FLU 1918

Don't talk about what you don't know. A: JUST PROVED I KNOW ALOT MORE THAN YOU DEAR little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Do you have any idea how much it would cost to implement these measures you talk of??

I bet you complain about wasted government money when the argument suits...

I fear a Peter and the Wolf scenario. After all the previous scares and nothing happened, could this outbreak be the one while everyone else dismisses it. Cath22 could be right all along.

And this is crazy StudyForm because the two in Scotland also felt fine on there return. It can take around 7days to come out. If this person is confirmed in a few days time it's swine flu..then how many other passengers on that flight will go down with it also? Too late by then because they would of been let out into the community. This is how easy it spreads.

Thats why more and more flights need to be cancelled in and out of the main affected area now.

There are MANY more, FAR worse things for us to be worrying about.

Swine flu isn't one of those things to be troubled by.

I've finished now.

Telling me YET and CHECK OUT SPANISH FLU 1918 doesn't make you an expert.

what sort of answer is YET

You're secretly (or not so secretly) hoping someone outside Mexico dies aren't you!? then you can turn round and tell us you're right.

Sick. I shall have nothing more to do with you Madam.

Listen just because you name yourself an ** doesn't mean you act line one.

Face facts and take the cotton wool off your eyes you blithering fool.

Of course I DON'T want anyone to die, wether it's Mexico or not. When I say Yet you need to read my other posts mostly to you explaining the deaths in Mexico are probably because they have had this flu for around a Month they also have alot more cases obviously becaus ethey have had it longer. The confirmed cases in the USA are growing, the more it grows the more chances that there will be deaths. Not rocket science is it?

How many people go abroad and catch things and die from them.

I had a good friend who aged 43, only 4 years ago, was bitten by a Mosquito, in either Keya or Thailand, he caught Dengue Hemorragic Fever, and died, after developing 'flu-like' symptoms.

The world's a crap place, full of crap stuff. It's even fuller of idiots and many of these make their living causing panic.

Comparing bird flu with swine flu is just stupid...

If bird flu had spread from human to human half of you wouldn't be here right now. Swine flu is just a fancy name for a regular flu... f uck all to worry about. I'd be much more worried about, hm... eh.. what I'm going to have for dinner.

I know this, but they say it can't be contained which I agree with because it's already out there we all know that. WHO said no point in closing borders because it;s out there. If this is the case then why advice against travelling to the affected countries? Obviously this is because you limit the chances of catching the flu, so I say the borders of Mexico do need to be closed before anymore come out of there and start spreading it.

Cannot be contained but you can limit the chances of spread. I.E avoiding Mexico. Why do you think the airlines that have already cancelled flights have done this?

OK, this argument's gone mental, what will it take for either side to win? It's 0-0, 90 minutes in, the ref's gone home and it looks like we're going into indefinite extra-time. Can someone hurry up and crush their opponent please?
By:

Might slow it down a bit and give it time to maybe die out itself yes. Good idea.

1,600 confirmed in Mexico then it makes sense to limit the risks.

The big unanswered question is whether or not the mild swine flu bugs will evolve into the more serious version that's killing people in Mexico. It may be a natural progression that's inevitable or it may not be.

If it is we're well fecked. But even if it isn't, the nasty Mexican version could yet spread further afield and become global. Pretty bleak scenario, whichever way you look at it.

''The outbreak of swine flu should be renamed "Mexican" influenza in deference to Muslim and Jewish sensitivities over pork, an Israeli health official has said.
Deputy Health Minister Yakov Litzman said the reference to pigs is offensive to both religions and "we should call this Mexican flu and not swine flu," he told a news conference at a hospital in central Israel '' Please bear this in mind .
