im sorry you find it terrifying that i have a child and that i try to bring her up with morals ie to follow jesus' teachings..perhaps i should instead lead her in the ways of the locals ie...sleep around, take drugs, be a vile, foul mouthed, aggressive so and so....er, be a single mum and allow ur kids to do as they please, be selfish etc??
. With regards to children - those are not the only two options!! Millions of us and our families are perfectly normal, law abiding decent citizens without resortgn to eiterh of those extremes. I hope you ensure your daughter is aware that your views are not the only views, and let her find her own way! I was in school with a couple of vicar's and priests kids - and they rebelled as much or more than anyone in late teens. |

well shes bound to be open to other beliefs here as the school teaches all religions...as i have mentioned before, we have free will and i wouldnt force her to go 'my' way...
as for all those OT quotes, well, it shows at the time how God cannot under any circumstances, tolerate sin, it shows how seriously he takes it, as the peoples in question were pracising the most vile forms of evil imaginable inc. sacrifice of their own children, sex with animals, worshipping stone and disregarding the God who gave them light, food and shelter etc... Jesus came, and changed all this, u have to remember that pople in those days didnt have a saviour and only way to remain undefiled was a blood sacrifice, also were told NOT to mingle with these races else theyd end up sinning too... God showed however, that his nature is to love, he cannot allow sin in his presence but jesus now covers that sin for us, he can still tho, i believe, judge people in order to help them realise their need of him, and the usa is one example of a nation going their own way which needs to see how they get on without God, when things happen many will be crying out for his help then no doubt. When things are going well, people have no need of him, i find that vile, like saying to your own dad i dont want you now youve just given me all your money and a house car etc....now get lost. As for fortune tellers, i find the practice abominable too, tho i wouldnt go as far as to kill them, maybe id just warn people how corrupt they are feeding off the innocent victims of bereavment instead. |

yes thats true too ovalman...but then i believe fortune tellers, i mean the 'real' ones, are used by satan anyway.
As for 'us' christians, well i wouldnt try to lie to anyoe about where theire loved one may be spending their time upon their demise because no one really knows except God. One thing i dont try to do is to comfort myself with the afterlife....i concentrate instead on the resurraction and the fact that jesus promised a time when therell be no more tears or sickness....tho this isnt the reason i believe ...its a love thing!! |

God could make us all like robots where we do everything he says, but that was never his plan was it? I cant make anyone love me, its a risk, i also cant force my neighbour to refrain from hitting me on the head with a mallet.. .however, God will eventually stop people from hurting one another, but lets face it he loves people enough to be giving them time to still repent, yes that old fashioned and yet underused word, repent. If God intervenes in human affairs evryone may indeed believe but they then wouldnt really need him would they, theyd just think 'oh, youre there then, ' but were still selfish and want to go our own way so push off...' im convinced that most people wouldnt change their behaviour no matter what proof they get. |

Most of the suffering u describe can again be ascribed to what man does to man, nothing whatsoever to do with God. Lets face it, if people followed Jesus' commands things wouldnt be quite so bad?? Also, satan is the god of this world..for the present, but eternity doesnt compare to the present sufferings at all... I too have probs with people who suffer, i cannot understand certain things and why they happen or are allowed to happen, yet i am not in a position to be able as yet to anser all the questions u throw at me as im not God and im sure none of us will find out in this present life. |
