Tommy Toes
30 Jun 05 14:01 It's Grim Up North; Very good indeed ! I'm sure he'll never be required to step up to heavyweight though. Campo, can't remember ever seeing old footage of Moore fight. Sounds like one to try and see if ever possible. Please carry on everyone, one of the best threads on here. I've got to go again now. Where did you keep going off to Tommy? |

Well, as you've asked, Colly, I've tried to do some research - from 8 years ago!
June 30th 2005 was a Thursday. I still have an old 2005 racing diary and from looking at that there were no major meetings on that week so I therefore doubt I had to go because I was having a bet/studying the form. Every alternate Thursday at that time meant my mother was having 4 units of blood transfused, which meant a tiny bit of peace for a few hours twice a month (although I was always expecting a 'phone call from the hospital that it had gone wrong that particular time - so only a small bit of peace), so if Thursday 30th June 2005 was a transfusion day I'd have been relishing having a bit of time to do whatever I wanted to do - and not having to rush off anywhere. So, to keep with the boxing theme, I can only surmise that my mother wasn't in hospital but was doing her usual impression of Chuck Wepner in his 'Bayonne Bleeder' guise - and I was mopping up the blood, as usual! |

kq, (who I spoke with on the phone about 5 years ago something to do with football programmes) had left Betfair at that point and was astonished his thread was still going. He'd be staggered now.

Ah yes your mother.. and there's me thinking that was the year you were Mayor of Stoke and were dashing off to open another Oatcake Emporium.

Rather worried about Tony Q. I used to converse with him regularly by e-mail, but some time ago I sent him a message, and he didn't reply. he had been very ill, heart issues, and was living the quiet life on the Essex coast, as previously stated on here.
I will send him another e-mail in a minute, and report back if he replies. |

E-mail sent.

Joy of joys, I have just had an e-mail back from TQ confirming his continuing existence. He is still in Clacton, still punting, and still seems full of the fire which once burned so brightly on these pages.
He told me to get on ht-ft Man City tonight, and asked me to send his football forum nemesis supernap/kenilworth his regards, which I have duly done. |

great news.

My favourite fight???
I don't know, there's so many different Millwall games to choose from! |
|
By:
Yes, kenny, the man city bet did win. Bit of a shame actually, as I may have received a kq rant by e-mail if it hadn't.
Was comfortable from about five minutes into the match. |
