difficult to fess up to something she may have played no part in though?? they allready have a guy doing 30 years for it, who's dna was all over the scene , trying to put others away on v weak evidence is poor form. Wouldnt have even made a trial over here with such a weak case

not sure about that. plenty of high profile murder cases where the evidence is farcically weak make it to court here and they usually go down. it's not all that different. beyond reasonable doubt is never applied. the defendant basically has to prove they didn't do it. not right i know that's the reality.

why tell all the stories and put the family through more pain. Put what you know on the table let the cards fall where they will.

Her twisting and turning has only done more to implicate her as someone who cant be trusted.

its starting to look like that more and more mafeking, probably due to the CPS or equivalent being v poor at there jobs!! but with no definate murder weapon or dna at the scene from the girl am very suprised she was convicted. Sellicito i suppose did have his dna at the scene so is plausable

Its usually the high profile ones that go wrong, even more reason to just keep to the facts and tell everything to anyone who will listen.

we won't find out the truth unles the appeals fail, then one of the 3 will bottle it and try to strike a deal by telling what happened

not hard to see why the CPS proceed with iffy cases. they must know full well when it's a shaky case but also know they'll probably get away with it. juries don't to leave cases unsolved especially someone has been killed.

can see an appeal clearing the girl and ex, think they will both pin it on the other guy who's an easy fall guy with his dna allready over the scene and admitting he was at scene at time!

When: 06 Dec 09 22:19
brendanuk obviously he wasnt on the net as he stated, however where is the proof beyond reasonable doubt that he together with knox killed the girl?? not to say they didnt, but the case was weaker than Carling lager!!!! An appeal will surely be successful, it seems any case where the jury can read papers, internet, talk to who they wany is severely flawed from the outset!!

why is he lying about his whereabouts that night?
By:

When: 06 Dec 09 22:33
On occassion, innocent people have lied about there activites, to conceal embarassing/illegal secrets. Unless he was raping the Pope however, it's hard to see how he could not want to come clean now.

the dna evidence being used does not meet requirements to be admissable in court in uk or usa. 200 base pairs must be available for analysis.

in this case the dna evidence they are using is only 50 pairs - it is inadmissable in the usa and uk because IT DOES NOT PROVE ANYTHING. the low standard sample could prove any number of other people were guilty - because such a small section will be shared by a huge number of people.

not read anything else about the case, so cant comment on guilt etc. just wanted to comment on the dna aspect.

In a statement read to a press conference in Perugia, Miss Kercher's brother Lyle said: "Ultimately we are pleased with the verdict.

"It's not a time for celebration. It's not a moment of triumph.

"We are all gathered here because our sister was brutally murdered and taken away from us.

"Of course, there were two very young people who have been sentenced yesterday to a very long time behind bars."

Miss Kercher's mother Arline told reporters: "At the end of the day you have to go on the evidence because there's nothing else."

The family praised the efforts of police, prosecutors, and jurors during the two years since Miss Kercher's death, with sister Stephanie thanking the public for their messages of support.

Not much doubt there from the family who followed the trial as much as anyone for 2 years
