Ukmalllia 04 Dec 22:50 Going to be innocent surely ? Got to be the only reason they are releasing the verdict at 12 MIDNIGHT in Italy ffs, the big US companies must of said they wanted it on prime time in the states for the bigger audience.I bet other verdicts in Italy are not on at 12 midnight ! Obviously going to be found innocent . and doesn't post again :^0 |

the father is a bit of a nutter as well
he said he believed what happened was the black dude broke into the house using a knife. meredith surprised him and things got out of hand. Meanwhile Knox was at Solecito's house all along. WTF? :0 |
By:
Seems to have been convicted on demeanour and behaviour and little else....how on earth can doing cartwheels in the police station soon after the murder be a suggestion of guilt? utter stupidity, yes. gross immaturity, yes. mixed up thru constant drug/alcohol use, maybe. But it's surely the last thing anyone trying to conceal guilt would do imo
By:
...and DNA evidence.
By:
Yes a knife found in her house had her DNA on it. What more proof do you want.
By:
mmmm and the victim's blood on it
By:
and it was found in his house, not at the murder scene.
By:
Well it was the murder weapon wasnt it. Im sure if someone came into your house and killed somebody with one of ytour knives it might just have your DNA on it.
By:
???
and return it to my house after they murder someone? |
By:
victim's blood on the blade, and attackers dna on the handle. Pretty conclusive I'd say.
By:
Asked how he felt Knox's Dad...""Anger, just disbelief on how a judicial system could even come up with a verdict like this. It's beyond me."
I appreciate this guy must be devastated by the verdict but FFS has he just flown in from Mars.. where was he during the OJ and Michael Jackson trials? |
By:
they state they were watching amelie at his house when that happened and were nowhere near her house. completely contradicts her first statement to the police. Then a blade is found with meredith's blood and knox's dna on the handle at his house.
By:
Hes her dad.
Hes naturally going to defend her as long as she protests her innocence |
By:
unfortunately the family of the victim will never find out what truly happened

Its a worrying precedent for all UK/US people going abroad. Until now we could be confident that our diplomats or politicians would get us home and not leave us to the mercy of some prehistoric system run by any johnny foreigner.
This looks a farce of a case after all the obvious guilty party is already doing 30 years for it. Still im sure that the US government will get it overturned and get justice. |
By:
why do you think the black dude is obviously guilty?
By:
He'd tried to wash it in bleach, would have been wiser just chucking it. I feel sorry for the poor bloke Knox tried to implicate initially.
By:
There is one already doing 30 years for the killing.
Now another two doing 25 and 26 years each. Does anyone know what each of them were all supposed to have been doing? I get the impression the DNA evidence on the knife points towards Knox stabbing the victim. What were the other 2 doing then, and why have their been 2 separate trials? |
By:
he feared if he was tried alongside the other two they would stitch him up to save themselves, hence the fast track

You don't even have to go abroad. Just try hacking into a US military computer from the UK! |
By:
harry crumb obviously knows nothing about the case

Good morning Nearctic. Are you well.

Imagine how she feels waking up in Italian chokey this morning with the prospect of 9,490 such awakenings ahead of her.

just don't rape/murder/slander anyone and you should be fine. Chucking paving slabs at people's heads is fine though. |
By:
shame
By:
you have to be pretty convinced as a juror to ruin the life of 2 middle class kids
By:
NO POSSIBLE way a guilty verdict could have been reached with the lack of hard evidence!! no definate murder weapon, no dna from the suspects in the flat , motive is all media speculation, an appeal would be successful without doubt. Just v suprising at how poor and lame the Italian justice system is
By:
Yes that Liverpool blokes trial was the first sign of things going wrong. Ok he was freed in the end but it did take a long time.
There are also two blokes being extradited to cyprus to face charges of being a passenger in a car. It will damage tourism in these tinpot countries if people are afraid of being arrested and convicted. Im amazed that the outrage people on here show to the US system as regards to that hacker bloke who by his own admission is guilty doesnt extend to The Italian one which convicts someone on nothing more than some dubious DNA "evidence" when the murderer is already doing 30 years . Undoubtably it will be quashed or if not the US will do like we do, bring them home then let them go as soon as nobody is looking. |
By:
lol, nothing more than DNA 'evidence'.
v poor fishing. |
By:
FACT IS there is more than reasonable doubt here, ffs they dont even know if the knife was the murder weapon!!! Then they cant explain why no dna was left in the room where the body was found from amanda!! all they had was a bra strap that had some dna from sellicito which im pretty sure could get there via many ways without meaning he killed the poor girl?? A bloke has allready been given a life sentence for the crime who's footprint was placed at the scene!!!
The Italians have**ed this up beyond belief!! END OF |
By:
the murder weapon had the victims blood on the blade and the perps DNA on the handle
what else do you want? |
By:
the accused telling conflicting accounts of the evening and attempting to implicate someone else?
By:
it is funny that everybody believes a black immigrant is guilty, but has second thoughts about a good looking white chick.
By:
Its not exactly damming evidence to have your DNA on an item you own. Its hardly beyond reasonable doubt but then this in Italy and not a civilised country like ours.
As to her conflicting story as a young person under tremendous stress in a foreign land I think most fairminded people wouldnt sentence someone to 25 years based on that. |
By:
bigh the (alledged murder weapon) hasnt been proved to have blood on it!! Just DNA, im pretty sure kitchen knives would gather prints etc everytime they are used, so not suprising dna is found on the handle is it?? How comes no DNA from amanda found in the room? cant see where the proof is that she was in the room?? it has been suggested she was, but if this lack of evidence has been produced to the CPS over here they wouldnt of even had a trial to save them being laughed out of court!!
Im not saying the girl or the bf are innocent, but IT CANNOT be proved beyond any doubt let alone reasonable that they are guilty |
By:
why was the knife at solecito's house though?
By:
TMF bringing colour into this is a bit sad though not a surprise. Perhaps you wanted her found guilty just because she was white.
By:
And why had he washed it in bleach?
And why did she repeatedly lie to the police? |
