Mid-point weigh in for me this morning. Stayed the same! Off to a wedding tomorrow, I fear my next one will see a few of the 10 pounds back on. Target for this time next week is to be 0-1 pound down again.

Also got a follow up at the docs re blood pressure, hoping that the recent efforts have had a good impact on that score, which was the kick start for getting some weight off.

Would be cool to hear a little more detail of how people are coping to make it a little more interesting.

I'm exercising an hour a day at least now and am very tired. Woke up today aching all over but got it done.

As for the diet side i'm doing a 'low' carb plan with under 100g per day as reccommended by t-nation's top trainers. Been reading a lot of T-nation recently and find it very inspiring so I have been trying to use some of their methods. Main ones i'm using are having a shake for breakfast and last meal of the day which is going ok. Using Boditronics Express Whey which is 33% miscellar casein and very low carb. Also cut out all ketchup etc and using lots of spices.

How is everyone else finding it?

Not really cutting down much on food at meal times. But i have cut back on chocolate bars, buns and other junk food. Drinking more water. I allow myself an alcohol allowance each week.

For exercise, i do some rope skipping. Started off very poor (10 skips), but getting better (50 skips). Ten minutes on the rowing machine, building up to 30 mins. And some stretching and on the spot stuff. Going to get out on my bike as well.

Its a good idea to take measurements and fitness notes then you can see the progress.

iI've thucked up as well clivey. Thought I won't have my shake, i'll have some healthy food. 4 bags of crisps, 2 slices of bread, two mini crunchies and a kit kat senses later it doesn't seem such a good idea.

For those that stick with it the rewards are worth the effort. Imagine being the weight you want too be. Picture that image. Lock it in your memory. Dont give up. Take the small steps to reach your goal.

I'll post my weight Friday (weigh in day in my house).

Finally cracked it I think. Eating a high protein, moderate fat, low carb diet and really enjoying it. Snacking on almonds, pecans, flame grilled chicken breast slices, babybel light cheese etc etc. Cut the bread out almost completely (not that there is anything wrong with certain types IMO) and when I do have a couple of slices it is Burgen soya and linseed which has omega 3 and almost 50% less carbs than standard breads.

Have also cut out potatoes at night and replaced them with two portions of vegetables.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some nice losses people, keep going.

For those of you losing smaller amount, have a look at this:

http://media.photobucket.com/image/fat%20replica%20model/jooshh/fivepoundsoffat.jpg

That is useless, disgusting, disease causing, health deteriorating, life shortening LARD. Even if you have lost one pound in recent weeks it is surely worth it to get that off your body?

One last image, 1 pound of fat http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-7Sk_jU9Uog/SKFzUr7G4lI/AAAAAAAAAr4/HGg0YaLyZt0/s400/1+lb+fat.jpg

well done fat fighters

J2, I was on a similar diet when I was heavier and it is fab once you are in the zone. After about 6 weeks I remember having a white baguette with bacon and it made me sick. rank.

bernard, don't forget that if you are exercising, you will be converting fat to muscle, after a few weeks you should notice the effects (ie belt looser, clothes less tight etc) but the scales may not reflect this

A pleasing weigh in this morning. As mentioned the other day, was at a wedding on Saturday and hit the booze and food - feck it, not every day my brother gets wed! Have stayed the same from last week. That'll do for me! Back to it now, hopefully another pound or two by Sunday.

monseuir, do you think that. as been getting a bit despondent as been doing loads of running and for last 7 weeks or so ive been hovering over the 16st mark, though my clothes are feeling looser especially tops but thinking the weight aint moving. so it could be turning to muiscle? I f so if i carry on will i get down to my goal weight of 13 st. Might have to try a different excercise as one knee is giving me jip not load of pain but gradually getting worse its a butning type sensation !
