best of luck to you all I only need to lose 5lbs now to get my bmi down from overweight to acceptable so wont be in for the long haul just another month or so as I started in May.
Only three thing to remember when dieting
1 - eat fruits and veg of as many different colours as you can each day
2- opt for lean protein sources
3- fill up with fibre and drink plenty of water to bulk it up to help digestive system work efficiently

Good luck everyone on this fred!

Not going to post up every day. If I can shift 11 pounds by the time I go away in mid-October. Under 1 pound a week. That gets me from "obese" to "overweight", which is a start! Am 4 pound down in a few weeks after cutting out the sugary drinks and choccy!

Hopefully this big change to the diet will help keep things moving the right way... Already walk 2-3 miles a day, so that should help.

After the first target, well another 2 stone or so by the following Xmas will get me very close to the ideal weight.

My plan is as thus:

30 minute run on the treadmill followed by a push up pro plan every other day. Increasing the intensity weekly.

Protein shake for breakfast or egg whites scrambled on wholemeal toast.

Protein shake or chicken salad for lunch

fruit for snacking

Main meal of lean meat and veg/salad

moinseur - whey protein is the compoent of a protein shake, creatine is another supplement altogether.

forget creatine.

check out maximuscle.co.uk and their flagshop protein powder, promax.

top stuff, used it myself over the years, great taste and top quality.

vanilla the best.

If you're having it for after weight training, try this:

http://www.myprotein.co.uk/formulas/mp-formulas/recovery-xs-(1800g)/

Maximuscle, whilst very good, charge a lot more than similar competitiors because they have name value.

Plenty of similar products around as well

As a former fat fighter around these here parts, I wish you fellas well.

My one bit of advice would be to stop drinking, and I really mean that. I stopped drinking for two months, never touched a drop of the stuff, and I lost one and a half stone as if it wasn't even there to begin with.
By:
DublinSlim1
When: 07 Jul 09 17:45
Thanks Banquo I plan to.. or at least cut down drastically.. I'm fond of a drop, so should save me money as well as helping with the weight loss

Hi lads, wont be joing the thread but am doing a Wii Fit inspired fitness kick.

Anyone of you lot using a wii fit to help? I'm doing a body test everyday at 5pm and then doing 30 minutes of activities.

My programme is mainly aerobic / muscular..... dont feel that yoga and the balance games will get any weight off.

Been eating fruit for breakfast,

A wrap for lunch, banana and yoghurt

Salad for tea with either baked potato or couscous.

Then the 30 mins of activity. Started out at 18st 6lb and in 10 days have dropped to 17st 13lb so pleased to have lost half a stone.

Have about a stone and a bit to go to go from Wii Fit obese to Wii Fit Overweight :0

My long term aim is 15 stone as Im a big lad anyway but am carrying plenty around the middle.

I really have enjoyed the last few days of hard work

Good luck lads, have the faith, believe in yourselves and have WILL POWER :)

Aye, it definitely does.

I'm like you, in that I like going for a drink, but I really wanted to lose weight and just thought that I would give it up.

The downside of nights out for me were that my friends are all heavy drinkers (living up to the Scottish stereotype), so being designated driver to a bunch of drunken bums wasn't always the best laugh. However, given the unspoken rules of designated driverdom, and the generosity of my mates, I rarely had to buy a drink because I was just drinking water all the time and then saving them money on a taxi home.

Debt Regret.. enjoy your pizza, and about these protein shakes
I see you could be having 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch
Are they filling? I can imagine being starving in the evening, ready to murder a KFC family bucket with all the trimmings
By:
Debt Regret
When: 07 Jul 09 18:01
they are filling, you stick some pumpkin seeds and a bit of peanut butter in the blender and maybe use skimmed milk instead of water to thicken em and make you fill up more.

i done a diet called the velocity diet a few times, where you just live on these shakes 5 times a day and one proper meal a day.

supposed to do it for 28 days... i manage about 10 days max and always lose about a stone easily.
