Started two weeks ago

Body Mass Index of 32
Height 5 feet 11 inches.

Got a drink infused gambling problem.
So stopped drinking in the house (ale/beer)
In turn has stopped me pushing the betfair numbers
Which has stopped me grabbing snacks during the racing (rarely watched a race - too busy pushing the betfair numbers for the next race)

In two weeks
golf has improved by 2 shots a round
BMi down to 31.2
Not had a bet
No alcohol for over a week

Now feeling depressed and will give up shortly

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour

6 miles a fair ole trek.. I dont fancy road running, am too big and afraid of the damage on my joints.. will use a treadmill tho. Alcohol's my biggest threat to succeeding at this, have a skinful, followed by kebab or curry, then the next day is written off with a hangover, vicious circle.. not planning to have any before friday week, am going to a party

Yes mate that's the one. I don't use Biotest products because although they claim using anything but Biotest leads to instant failure, that is a load of rubbish. You can find products of a very similar spec on myprotein.com.

I have decided on a sort of compromise between V-diet and V-diet light. V-diet based on low carb, plenty of protein and good fats. I'm going to have 4 shakes and a meal each day but every day the meal will be a low fat cheese omelette (virtually no carbs) so it shouldn't do me too much harm having that instead of a shake.

Total protein shake (myprotein.com - omega 3 included in shakes)

Total protein shake + Ultralight Max Health drink (for vitamins and minerals)

Total protein shake + 15ml sunflower oil

Cheese omelette (omega 3 in free range eggs)

Total protein shake

+ unlimited tea, water, Ribena Light etc

Not read the thread (apologies), but for a weight loss diet, eating less & exercising more never fails. No massive change in lifestyle required, just go for a run/cycle/do a bit of sport & cut out eating between meals/eat smaller portions. P1ece of**. Weight gradually goes & after a month or two you're looking & feeling better.

I agree with DublinSlim - my night out days - Wednesday and Fri/Sat are my biggest worries, because they generally combine a reasonable amount of drinking with the want to have either a kebab, curry or something else lethal.

I'm gonna try and exercise at least three times a week - three more than usual. Good luck everyone by the way :)

So far today -

1 bottle of water.

ROPE SKIPPING
A great exercise for burning calories is rope skipping. Once you learn how to jump rope properly with good coordination it will be possible to continue rope skipping for longer periods. Because rope jumping is a fairly energetic exercise lots of calories can be burned during a twenty minute session of skipping.

HULA HOOPING
One of the health benefits of hula hooping is, it helps lose weight and increases the fitness level of the body.
Hula hooping helps increase the flow of blood to the brain. Hula hooping exercises are more reviving than a short nap. Regular hula hooping helps increase the energy level of the body.
Hula hooping exercises strengthens the waist, hips and the knees. This is another important health benefit of hula hooping.
The coordination of the body movement and breathing strengthens the torso muscles and enhances the flexibility of the spine. Hula hooping exercises promote the integral functions of our vital organs.
To tone the muscles of the arms roll the hula-hoop around your arm in circular motion. Hula hooping burns the unwanted fat in the midriff and tightens the stomach.
Hula hooping is a fun activity for children and adults. The idea of this exercise is keep the hoop moving on your hips as long as possible. More you exercise more the calories will you burn. If you want to work your waist and hips, place the hula-hoop on the waist and move around. You could place it on arms and legs to tone the muscles in those areas.
