agreed. Students buying a bag of *****with a cheque is the pits.

By:
I would pass on the 2.5% handling fee. Then again, I would probably have no customers!

I hate it when people buy a few groceries, then get a lucky dip on the Lotto, then produce their card for payment.
You can sense everyone in the queue thinking "You absolute fecker for causing an unnecessary hold-up!" |
By:
I fume when the women stand there watch the girl run it through the till then they start searching in the bottom of their bags for their purse ..
.." LOOK you knew you HAD to pay , why didn't you get your purse out instead of wasting 5 minutes of everyone's time !! " |

Tesco Direct yesterday, I spotted someone using a debit card to buy a newspaper!

Remember I was once waiting in a long queue in Ikea just to buy knives and forks. As the cashier readied himself for me, I was already there with the exact change in one hand, and with my two boxes in my other hand held facing him so he could quickly scan my items. I asked for him to keep my receipt. Transaction time: about 8 seconds. Like to think he was awe-struck by my no-doubt unprecedented efficiency.
NO MESSIN'. |

dk I would expect nothing less from you.
JJ... agree 100% |
By:
dk1986 - that's the sort of customer every shop would dream of.
By:
The worst are people who use the ticket queue to find out train times , info etc when normal people would use the web or phone
By:
its amazing all the chit chatters who cannot afford to waste an extra minute in a shop yet find time to post on here all day!!
By:
I just wish other people would exact the same levels of care and swiftness. :)

I would pass on the 2.5% handling fee. Then again, I would probably have no customers! Yeah, what is it with this handling fee cr@p ? Fvcking banks invented cheques for our convenience then decide to tax people on their use. Complete kuntz. |

Pleasing.

Credit/Debit cards are just as quick to process as cash nowadays anyway, especially when you PIN it
By:
I always use my debit card to buy a single chocolate bar from the shop for 40p :^0
Usually don't have cash on me anymore, just never need it. |

Credit/Debit cards are just as quick to process as cash nowadays anyway, especially when you PIN it No they aren't. Fiver in till and a few coins change = a few seconds. Chip and Pin Cashier enters amount into till. Then into chip and pin handset. Enter card. Check amount on chip and pin handset. Enter pin whilst shielding hand. Press green button. processing... Please remove card. |

By:

By:
we need micropayments on a card.
just swipe it and go, no pin, nowt. Works in Finland |
By:
if that's true then,
plenty of fraud in Finland they won't care to mention "we need to look better than the UK, that's all it matters" |
By:
set max value of say, £5
set max value per day of say, £10 you lose card, your own fault. like dropping a tenner |
By:
god huggy when i use to wrk in a shop , i used to refuse to take a card for less than a quid , even though i shld have
By:
what about cash machines, some real annoying people take an age just to get a 10 pound note out
god knows what some of them do on it, I must take about 20 seconds max to get some cash out |
By:
lose my card, my own fault?
but it's ok if someone else can pick it up and steal my money? away tae fυck! |
By:
i went to use mine for £3.78 , was told that there would be a "wee 50p handling charge for transactions under a tenner"
just like that , just a wee 50p charge as cool as u like , as if it was the most normal thing in the world. just a wee 50p charge. feck right off. then im the koont for saying it doesnt matter ill go elsewhere. |
By:
for £3.78, it would have cost the shop 11p for you using your card
visa charge 3% of transaction............so if you were only buying a packet of cigarettes the shop would've made a lost selling it to you via a visa card hence the transaction charge |
By:
loss not lost, sorry
By:
and I understand Asda and Tesco wouldn't charge you just for a pack of fags, but I wouldn't think it affects them much
of course if Asda starts doing it, it would dent their reputation |
