She could run in the Relkeel Hurdle (20f), according to Mullins. Well, if she turns up only then we can be sure she's running until then...
By:
Now her trainer is saying he's waiting for soft or heavy going before running her; Champion Hurdle on soft or heavy going? Highly unlikely I'd think.
By:
She's entered in the Ryanair at leopardstown,11\2 in a place, every chance she will get the bog she needs
By:
Unlikely as Samcro is heading that way too, according to Elliot. More likely a minor race somewhere else knowing Mullins.
By:
The problem Mullins has got is the owners wants to run in the CH and has said so, remember they flogged BD to JP, so are maybe thinking of what might have been . Also the problem that Mullins has is that the Mares Hurdle is no longer a gimme is it with AJ and the stables own BDD rocking up there too.
By:
Of course, BD and Laurina shared the same owner at one time; she's 3/1 with '365' in the CH (nrnb).
By:
She's gone awol (again) in the X'mas Hurdle (she's avoiding Buveur D'Air), but still in the Ryanair Hurdle though. Will she go awol there too courtesy of Samcro and Melon?
By:
Annoying
By:
But no worries, Mullins has assured those who might be concerned she's ok,...just the ground is not. As an aside Yorkhill (last season's delinquent) has suffered a setback, and might not appear this season at all.
Finally, Mullins found something untoward with him; we could have told him last season after repeated successive below par performances over different discipline. |
By:
She's taken a walk out to 6/1 (2x previous) whilst stablemates Melon and Sharjah have shortened in the Ryanair Hurdle; Samcro is 5/4 from 15/8. Looking like another ducking from Laurina.

Going for the Relkeel at Chelters
New Years day Might actually attend if she runs ![]() |
By:
Rekeel? Would she still be Champion Hurdle bound unless of course Mullins think either Melon or Sharjah could beat Samcro and be a force to be reckoned with against Buveur D'Air?
I believe she's running when she turns up at the race course, and not before. |
By:
Mullins says in the paper this morning that the mares' hurdle at Sandown early next year (5th Jan I think) is tempting him more than the Relkeel at the moment...
By:
imp,
I tend to agree ![]() |
By:
Come on Willie grow a pair, he can't even give 7lbs to Verdana Blue ffs
![]() |
By:
She's 6/1 for the Relkeel Hurdle, and her stablemate Benie Des Dieux fav at 13/8; odds-on another no show one could envisage knowing the stable.
By:
Seems to me like he is deliberately giving her a prep more expected for the mares race. You would have thought if she was going to go to the champion she would have been out by now and put in one of the grade ones there have been plenty of opportunities. Shame as I see her as the only danger to buveur dair.
By:
She's been taken out of the Ryanair Hurdle; Samcro is 15/8 with Melon and Sharjah at 9/4 and 3/1 respectively. Bedrock is 12/1 with only 8 declared.
By:
Taken out of The Relkeel toom but Tolworth Hurdle suggested. Believe it when I see her on the race course - reminds me of Vroum Vroum Mag.
By:
We see Halley's Comet more than we see Laurina.
By:
Hopefully she’ll turn up on Saturday. Looks perfect race.
By:
I may have jumped the gun a wee bit. Mullins did say Sandown on saturday - this bit is accurate - but there is a Mares Hurdles race too 100 mins earlier. Let's hope it is the Tolworth and not some ineffectual Mares race over 20f.
By:
Oh dear, it is the Mares Hurdle over 20f, and not the Tolworth. Her backers bin her Champion Hurdle slips? I'd rather Mullins keep her at home and not come over and plunder money genuinely meant for mares not good enough for the Champion Hurdle.
By:
AP ran in a few of those races too tbf before first running in the stayers and then the CH, I wouldn't worry what prep races she runs in I just want to see her run in something.
By:
AP did beat or run against horses like Zarkandar, More Of That, My Tent Or Yours, Jennies Jewel, Don Cossack, etc; these were very good horses unlike those that Laurina beat that had done nothing since. Maybe Mullins knows something he's not prepared to share with us Joe public just yet.
By:
Impossible is annoyed Laurina not entered for the novice hurdle.

By:
Imp, that's a schoolboy error mate.
By:
Sorry, which one, comparing Laurina against AP or Tolworth vs Mares Hurdle? You know what I'm like with Mullins' soundbites. Anyway, do not have much time for Mr Mullins as I'm no fan of his or the majority of his unproven juveniles.
By:
You posted, oh dear it's the Mares Hurdle over 20f instead of the Tolworth, seen as she is not a novice how could she run in the Tolworth ?
Think before posting |
By:
Why is she running against horses so inferior to her this saturday at Sandown? Not only does it not inspire confidence for the Champion Hurdle (CH) where she's a skinny 5/1 2nd fav (why?) it is not even over the CH distance. I think Mr Mullins is taking the mickey (again); she should have stayed at home, and not bothered or not run at all.
By:
AP ran in a couple of these types of races, it doesn't matter, the point is she needs a run somewhere.
The worry for those of us who want to see her given a chance in the CH is that Mullins, who wants to run her in the Mares race has left her so short of work that she's unimpressive and he can then turn around to the owners (who 100% want to run in the CH) and tell them afterwards, "I'm not sure she's up to it, we'd better stick to the Mares race" That's the cynic in me coming out there and it hopefully won't be the case. Just remember that he already has two CH horses but with these owners he is actively going to put them off, they're no Wylies.!! |
By:
actively going have to put them off, to get away from the CH.
By:
She's no AP; she beat non-entities so far, and I believe Mullins thinks so too. I also believe if Apples Jade is diverted to the CH Laurina will be Mares bound; Mullins just wants a win at the Festival.
By:
Well @ least still got a leg in each corner
By:
What a farce of a horse race? Two withdrawals prior from 4,...absolutely no competition; Mullins did not show either, that said it all!
4 legs still in tact, and once again against sh1te competition. |
By:
Well shes got her run now.
Have to wait until her next run though to get more idea how good she is and where shes likely to end up in March. Ludicrous price for the big one, especially when it seems Ruby is banging on about her being a stayer. |
By:
Mr Mullins was there...in the winner's enclosure.
By:
Interesting the comments re her liking of soft ground.
This looks to me like a decision very near the day, dependant on the ground on the day. Soft = CH Better ground = Mares. |
By:
Think you are 100% right there budd, i think she has real chance in ch but would rather have a bet when soft ground is a near cert.
