The Fellow finished 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 1st.

Djakadam has the first three finishes on his CV so maybe he can finally win it this year - at 50/1 I've thrown a few quid away as I like a coincidence bet.Crazy

Djakadam is no 50/1 poke Uncle.....Travelled really well last year.

Stick a half decent jockey on him or Native River, result may well been different.

The price of his stablemate, stepping out of handicap company, thats a strange one?

Melting snow and lots of rain forecast for the coming week. Possibly heavy ground for the start of the meeting. All still happy with your ante posts bets?
I'm with Def Red so soft heavy would be fine with me

I'm very happy with Djakadam if it is really soft/heavy - in fact having looked at the weather forecasts (for what little they are worth) I have gone in again at 36 this morning. He'll probably go for the Ryanair now.Laugh

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Sizing John will miss next weeks Cheltenham Gold Cup more news to follow
By:

I never fancied Sizing John. If the track doesn't get too soft I really like Might Bite. But with the forecast rain Total Recall @ 16/1 E/W (1/4 odds) comes into the reckoning IMHO...........

I have no doubt Mite Bite is better suited to the Old course which of course the the RSA is run over.  The Gold Cup over the new course will be tougher for him. I think he can overcome this but if the ground is very soft or heavy it might be a bridge too far as in my eyes the King George highlighted very soft ground was far from ideal.  So rain dependent and the weather forecast is suggesting it will chuck down on Sun and Wed and this will determine if he goes off as a 7/4 or a 4/1 chance.

You have been smoking crack more than likely, will probably be the first horse beaten, how is it going to make the pace with might bite in the race

It only knows how to run one way

Might Bite sat 2nd in the king george for at least the first half of the race. He's very unlikely to try and make all though i'm sure he'll be prominent.

It won't be surprising if he leads, but he also won't go stupid to get the lead. Will happily sit in behind and get into a rhythm.
By:
impossible123
When: 09 Mar 18 15:49
He'll tack along if necessary and take it up some distance out if needs be (similar to the King George) to try and demoralise those trying to hang on to his coattail; from 3 out backers would be hoping he'd sustain the pace and last out the trip. And so would his jockey and Hendo.

SOURCE Lee Mottershead Racing Post live - Harry Fry has revealed on his Betway blog that American, owned by the Jago Family Partnership, has been added to the Gold Cup - at a cost of £27,500 - with Noel Fehily set to ride.

Fry said: "There’s only one Gold Cup and we decided that we’d take our chance. There’s also the added bonus that Noel [Fehily] will now take the ride.

"Obviously we’re not supplementing him because we think we can win, but it’s the blue riband event of our sport and it would be a dream come true for all of us to have a runner in the race.

"With the ground how it is, dafter things have happened and we’d all be thrilled to bits if he could run into a place."

I cant find this reported  blog post which must have been removed - an utterly bizzare post imo   "we’re not supplementing him because we think we can win" wtf??

Looks like the Cotswold form is what i thought it was - Gold Cup Form Wink

I actually think that American was given an easy time in the Cotswold - he let Danny Cook get away from him a bit too easy .

Do you really think DR will win the glld cup "with ease" ?

King , What post are you quoting ? American or Definitly Red ??

I dont think he will, but i think he could.

I do think that the Definitly Red Form lines and overall ability is alot better than the media is reporting.
