Fakir D'Oudairies is not owned by JP to the best of my knowledge, he might still be re-routed though. Interesting that he got multiple entries but Sir Erec got just the one.

By:
jj Slevin said he'd have no issue taking Sir Erec on in March so they'll obviously be taking each other on. Sir Erec wont be much, if any shorter on the day. Antepost gone ta ****.

Sir Erec now 9/4 here.
Hugely impressive run on Sunday and gave the impression he would devour the Cheltenham hill. We're badly in need of some top notch novices so hoping he will be it. |

Sir Erec ran Stradivarius to 2.5l in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot, and finished infront of Flag Of Honour winner of the Irish St Leger. How did I miss 25/1 for him?

Remember HousesofParliament and Sword Fighter? Seldom do highly rated flat horses transfer their class to jumping. I remember JOB sent a bunch of them to Enda Bolger for schooling and the majority of them didn't even make it to the track. Sir Erec looks a natural though. Fingers crossed he develops into a top 2 miler. |

Indeed. I remember that year well; I was on Landofhopeandglory, Housesofparliament and one another who did not make it to the racecourse despite running in a Derby Trial. But Sir Erec (SE) did win 1st time out, and was fav after, only usurped by SE after FD won impressively at Cheltenham.
I think SE and FD could turn out to be horses to be reckoned with over hurdles and fences in the future. Both have been promising so far. |

6/4 now after the JP buying Fakir news.

Interesting race for Laskadine tommorow at Haydock. 3 furlongs further and up against her elders. Snapped up all the 25s plus for the Triumph and now 55!!Hopefully she will bolt up as I think her stamina might still make her competetive in the Triumph.

that was nice from quel distin.i like him.
improving with every race which is just want you want. visually impressive, even if opposition werent great. |
By:
Another boost to the form of Fakir D'oudaries who brushed aside Adjali (just touched-off by Quel Distin) easily.
By:
Well ive missed the fav,but happy with QD to take him on with.
By:
I missed the juicy prices of Sir Erec but do have Fakir D'oudaries 12/1 (nrnb) for this; the latter is my main bet for The Supreme at 20 with 'Match****'.
By:
Nice Imp,i got 16 QD.
Will possibly have a look for another near the day. |
By:
I think the interview with JOB spoke volume today. Joseph said: "It makes sense to separate them but Frank Berry and JP will make the decision."
Fakir D'oudaries is this way bound then. By the way is Al Dancer justified to be such short price fav despite winning the Betfair easily? What did he beat? |
By:
Sir Erec (6/4) is very short for this. Is he passed the post already even before more JP money on race day? He'd easily go odds-on if JP indulges further.
By:
Very impressive from from Fusil Raffles today, a very big danger to Sir Erec, and the ownership can run the horse that led today to try and pester SE up front in an attempt to mess up his jumping that was atrocious on debut when he raced in amongst horses.
By:
Looked good, hard to tell what he’s best though. Also looked to have a nasty cut on his back leg which could take some healing
By:
Personally, I thought crossing the line he looked a massive danger to the favourite. Travelled well, jumped very well and quickened up nicely. Hard to fault. Clearly the favourite has a big engine but his jumping is a work in progress and he had the run of the race last time. Get a couple wrong at the Festival and it could suddenly become very hard work.
All of that thrown up in the air by the cut. He wasn't obviously lame after the race but presumably the next couple of days will be crucial as to whether he makes the race. A real shame if he doesn't. |
By:
The visually impressive winner Fusil Raffles has been matched at 16 here, and is still weak. Could he be going the same way as Le Richebourg? He's an appointment with the vet this morning about the cut he sustained in his win at the weekend.
By:
Yeah, it's looking that way. Which is a shame, as I need to find something to get Sir Erec beaten. I may end up with egg on my face on Friday, but he's far shorter than he should be in my book.
By:
He's out. Just been confirmed.
By:
Oh dear, mot good for racing even though that's the peril of antepost. Who'll be next between now and Festival? I always dread this time period.
By:
Pic Dorhy has an entry this weekend ACStafford.... his French form is of the highest order.
Surprised he's still a double figure price NRNB. |
By:
Only runs in Triumph if it is soft ....Nicholls .
By:
Interesting. Nicholls appears to be very keen on him. On the soft side is the quote on Racing Post, so maybe he'll get a run on good to soft.
By:
No brainer NRNB imo.

Or no brains

Harry Derham on the FFP special released tonight -
"Never mind Quel Destin lets talk about Pic D'Orhy. We worked them the other day and Pic beat him 20 lengths." Save him for Aintree Blake says! Harry joking with the lads. They are well aware of the hype lol! Quel Destin in great form (Blake says on a line through Adjali Sir Erec could cover 2 mares mid race and still beat Quel Destin - the lads are in good form!) Pic D'Orhy. Again plans ground dependent. If its on the slower side he will run. Blake jumps in take your time send him to Market Rasen instead. Very nice horse Derham says. Very relaxed horse who does everything right. "The way he went around Wincanton the other day it was like his arse was on fire." |

From racing post
Breaking news Sir Erec, a general evens favourite for the Triumph Hurdle, has suffered a stone bruise but trainer Joseph O'Brien is "confident" he will be fit to run at Cheltenham. |
By:
is something up with sir erec, out to 2.82
By:
That'll be Fakir getting switched then
![]() ![]() |
By:
O'Brien is confident he'll make the race given it's another 8 days to event.
By:
Keep on raining.
Without mentioning him by name, I gave you the winner lads on 28th January. The soft ground is exactly what we want. |
By:
Erec in according to Skybet
By:
Sir Erec is the class horse, and has the form too. No doubt JP will get stuck-in on the day; starts odds-on a near certainty, I believe.
