Just had another look at Redicean's latest race at Kempton.
Not the most fluent jumping at a couple, but dont think that will stop him running a big race in the Triumph. Taken 10 nrnb, think thats fair odds, maybe slightly generous?. |
By:
Yeah I think you are right budd, looked to have some engine. Apple's Shakara aside he's the best of the English.
By:
Agree^ he really impressed me, took the 10/1 nrnb
By:
I thought the race was difficult to get a handle on given the conditions and the unusual conclusion but what I would say is that Et Moi Alors looked a very impressive beast physically - also got to bear in mind that was his racecourse debut, no flat runs or hurdling experience in France...

So Rease, assuming all is well after the fall, where next? The Adonis? Win that and he's in the mix!
By:
Not sure DBS - noticed watching replay today that he was down quite a long time after the fall (possibly winded) - Adonis is 5 weeks away I think?
Maybe they'll try to find a softer looking race to give him anice experience in if all is well... |
By:
True. I only had a speculative bet on him, but was reasonably impressed, shame the way the race ended as it would have been nice to see whether he would have extended away or whether he's a bridle horse and would have ground it out.
The Moore's are usually not bothered about missing Cheltenham I think, so they could put him away for next year possibly. Although, I would add that although the Adonis is usually a hot race, it's also often a small field so it may be difficult, but wouldn't have the hustle and bustle of a weaker race with more runners? Who knows, we'll have to wait and see. |

Espoir allen runs badly at Lepardstown

Alan King has a Highclere horse called Ballywood. Its won 2 out of 5 races in France. It will be out within the next 10 days and if all goes well, will go for The Triumph or The Fred Winter
He described it as a very exciting prospect |
By:
Espoir D'Allen was too keen early on and did not show the form and beating he gave to Farclas (receiving 3lbs last time) but level weight today.
By:
Espoir was really disappointing today. Once he was beat Barry went easy
By:
Put a line through ED imo, a juvenile horse cannot do that and then have enough at the end.
By:
We Have A Dream certainly still in with a shout for me - going to hedge my bet on him with a Apples Shakira/Samcro/Bouveur Deir treble but will wait til closer to the time as their odds won't change much before then
By:
Espoir D'Allen, in the same ownership as the fav Apples Shakira, has taken a walk in the market - participation in doubt?
By:
ability in doubt!
By:
Maybe not, he did beat the 2nd Farclas easily after settling early in the race unlike his latest run; 22 here is tempting but no insurance is a bit risky.
By:
fair enough, i'm afraid I can't help you with regards to his liklehood of running, I still can't see past the top 2 in the betting though.
By:
I think the price and position of Apples Shakira in the betting market are mainly Hendo induced and the 7lbs allowance she receives from the others; her form is not earth shattering but she's the highest rated with Espoir D'Allen next best. I think We Have A Dream has better credential but Hendo trained too.

I remember a few years ago I backed Hargam when Peace and Co won (have only been watching racing 5 or so years) - that race just sticks in my mind and if memory serves me right Hendo was keener on Peace and Co than Hargam (and I think Peace and Co was stronger in the market than Hargam throughout the year too) - that's the only reason I'm worried by Apples Shakira!
By:
Redicean
By:
Oh yes, it was 2015. Hendo had the 2nd Top Notch as well; Peace And Co, Top Notch and Hargam, a full house - I was on the 2nd. I think the ground just before racing did not go for Hargam.
By:
yes forgot about that, hargam always wanted quicker ground - ive been backing hargam every year at the festival since haha! I was sure there was a county or 2 and a half mile handicap win in him, but fear the horse just isn't good enough now!
By:
and yes redicean has looked impressive (especially last time) but just seems like hes been beating very average horses
By:
Redicean.....thats my boy!!
By:
I hope not lol :D
By:
what price you on? and is it e/w or win only?
By:
Sadly i only backed him after seeing him in his race at Kempton last time.
He gave me the same feeling i had when i saw Altior before his supreme.Doubt he will be as good though ![]() Have 10 nrnb to win. |
By:
10s still a nice price and at least it's NRNB! The bet on WHAD for me is win only too, go hard or go home mate :D
By:
Well I think hes one of a few with a fair chance, yours looks good as well mate.
Looks a good year for the Juveniles and a proper race to look forward to. |
By:
indeed a very competitive race, great for the spectator but squeaky bum time for us that've had a punt lol
By:
Not often Mullins grade one winner.. Unbeaten over hurdles available at 7/1.
By:
Don't forget WPM also has the filly Stormy Ireland. No mention of why she missed Leopardstown but sounds like all systems go for Cheltenham.
By:
For me Farclas still. Wasn't 100% ready for last week
By:
Espoir Dallen to show his true form, I hope.
By:
Ballywood runs Sat 24th Feb at Kempton
By:
It still looks open -- nothing has emerged that looks head and shoulders above the rest.
By:
bit frustrating having my biggest antepost bet turn out to look like its in the most competitive graded race of the festival but oh well haha can't wait!!
By:
Espoir Dallen is still weak; he shares the same owner as Apple's Shakira the fav ie JP McManus; he's also entered for the Supreme.
By:
sussex ranger running on the all weather in a minute, strange prep for triumph not sure i like it tbh...we will see
By:
Who says he's going Triumph? I'd be more keen for the Fred
