Annie Power has been matched at 20 here with Yorkhill backed again into 12 from 44, just a minute ago.

The betting resumes but Annie Power is 9 for the Mares with VVM only 2, and now the Mares Hurdle has been suspended. What is going on? Is Annie Power ok? An imminent announcement to follow, I believe.

She's indeed out - she misses Cheltenham after sustaining a foot injury, But will she ever race again, I wonder?

All connected with the stable are

Ricci: Vautour runs in the gold cup or stays at home, low and behold he runs in the Ryanair

Walsh:  Un De Sceaux worked brilliant for me yesterday, declared a non runner next day (Tingle Creek) Willie citing he has not been happy with his work

could go on and on Laugh

Last year there were late switches for Vautour, Black Hercules and Bellshill, what will it be this year?

If Faugheen does not win on sunday Yorkhill will be a near certainty to be supplemented for this race with Min rerouted to the JLT, I'd imagine.

What a surprise about AP. What are the odds she makes a miraculous recovery for Aintree?

That puts to bed Faugheen in the Stayers.

Such a shame re AP.

Now we await the aftermath, hopefully wont be too bad all the time Faugheen is still on the scene.
if hes out..........carnage!!

Could it be 2 years running i've ended up with an almighty C'hdl bookConfusedCrazy If F don't make it again, it will be. Not that i am wishing this to happen, i placed my bets in the total understanding that both he and AP might turn up.

To beat WPM at his own game you have to think like WPM and RR. Isn't it strange how every late switch that team have made all have won bar Champagne fever and even he was beat by a fluke 33/1 shot from the pipe yard! I helps to keep an eye on all the markets. At this stage in precedings i am not surprised this news has broke. I was kind of suspecting it especially after Yorkhill was done at as short as 7.2 in the C'hdl market yesterday.

I laid faugheen all winter till he was pulled out last year as was odds on and i backed ew against him, this year ive not really touched him but backed York at 35s on here (i will trade my position if he goes single figs) but my main bets are PM (9s) Yan (11/2 & 5s) Sceaux (33s) and BP (25s) all ew.

To put it another way

AP ruled out of chelt and poss the season, that fluctuation with yorkhill in churdle market yesterday is rather interesting now isn't it and with no one interested in faugheen in irish churdle market on bf INTERESTING

I'm not expert on lying nor body language but when WPM was being interviewed earlier today on ATR when talking about AP he was very shifty, lots of ers and ems whenever he spoke. There was no eye contact with the camera and what there was towards the interviewer was very limited!!
Not sure if he was asked about Faugheen but when asked about todays runners / other horses he completely changed his demeanor and the sentences were flowing as if he didn't have to think about what to say before saying it

There's all lot of flutes on this forum who talk about racing who haven't a f-ing clue, some suggesting annie power and faugheen race each other at home, some say faugheen hasn't a chance of racing this year because they heard it off someone else.
Racing is a tough game, try being an owner and you'll know all about it. The most likely time a horse is going to get injured at home in training is the few weeks leading up to their first race when a gun is being put to their head. When it was announced weeks ago Faugheen wasn't sparkling there was no gun to his head and people speculated he wasn't right and wouldn't race this year. The same people hoped he wouldn't just to be right.
It not to long ago half this forum were suggesting ruby would ride hurricane fly over faugheen in his first champion hurdle. And this time last year Annie Power wasn't even entered in a champion hurdle, but fair play to her she was a substitute and a half and although she won a less than average champion hurdle she did it in some style. I wish her the best in her recovery. As for Faugheen I hope he has a safe and successful return to the track and ruby once again rides him in a c.h

Warning signs were there months back, not oky did I scratch Annie Power off for the CH but I went one further and scratched Faugheen - i really hope he comes back this weekend, and regains his title in March
However, I've backed VVM at 44's and at 100's after Mullins came out with all that "AP vs Faugheen" rubbish

VVM entered over 2 mile this weekend, prep run for CH. All eyes will be on Faugheen this weekend, and I'm not that sure he'll win - what will Mullins do if he tails off and finished lengths off the winner? VVM is ready to take this

Yanworth won't win this, will be left for dead at the bottom of the hill
Watch The New One in the 15 and 16 CH - that will be Yanworth in March

hi guys,my heart is broken, hope none of you experts listened to me and lost money,im sorry if you did,but that's racing, and I will battle on.i have some useless information that I did not share with you all but if annie was still running you would never hear it.
useless information=yanworth scraped home in the Christmas hurdle against lil rockafella,Annie had left lil rockafella 40 lengths behind in the CH.And ANNIE was going to get a half a stone allowance of yanworth because he only carried 11.3 in the Christmas hurdle.
That's how far Annie was ahead of all the plodders this year.
the only good news tonight is that willie is giving Annie 10 days to see how she is before he makes a decision.
once again Cinderella will not be going to the ball.
its like getting the top 11 footballers on the worlds best team but no lionel messi.
all the irish will not travel because of no Annie.Sad

who knows what will happen now,the irish CH is more interesting now, depending on how Faugheen runs.if he flops the Cheltenham ch is wide open,if he wins he will be very short and value may be about.Anyway guys best of luck with your bets .

Commisserations Brassneck...it just wasn't to be.

Opatcho, you have some nice bets there but I just can't see her going the CH route even if Faugheen got knocked out. For that to happen, Limini would have to do something special before Cheltenham...enough to make her banker material for the Mares. Not saying that can't happen but, unless she does, VVM will go for the Mares regardless of Faugheen.

they must be very tempted to bring yorkhill here and i wouldn't blame them myself as he has been far from convincing over fences, although in all fairness he hasn't really been off the snaff yet

anyway i think they maybe tempted to have a go... if you are taking the bigger prices much will depend on the irish champion hurdle and how faugheen gets on because if he is fit and well you have done your dough but for those like me sitting on the fence it is quite interesting to see how it plays out, i suspect however faugheen will be odds on after sunday

Good luck Opatcho, with Vroum Vroum Mag. I took a similar view to yourself as well a few months back, and have her in a similar price range 42's to 150's (22 pence at 150's I may add Grin). As much as you have to recognise the strength in depth of WPM's string, I just can't be bothered second guessing the targets for his big guns, only to get it wrong anyway, so I just normally take a swing (and usually a miss) at a couple of his going for less likely targets.

For what it's worth, I'd agree that it's unlikely she'll go CH, but gives you something to hope for, and if I were a betting man Plain I'd say Yorkhill is the more likely to get re-routed.

I took a similar view with Ivan Grozny as well, and have him up to 200's as well, but I reckon they see him as very much a backup only, and they seem to be of the view he doesn't like Cheltenham, but was happy to take a chance anyway.

If Faugheen comes back though on Sunday as good as ever, then surely all academic for the rest anyway.

It now seems very suspicious that Mullins was talking up Yorkhill for the CH on Sunday. If Faugheen misfires or doesn't appear on Sunday I expect Yorkhill will be supplemented for the CH at the risk of another public outcry. I don't think VVM is good enough to win a CH, she's about 10lb short imo. To be honest I couldn't blame Mullins for moving Yorkhill at this stage, he would be their best hope if Faugheen doesn't return close to his best.

If Faugheen don't run in CH,then I hope they think hard about rerouting Un De Sceaux.
Possibly could be the best chance they would have without Faugheen, although I do respect Yorkhill is probably still an improver and could turn out better.
Lets face it without AP and Faugheen its wide open and Yanworth at 2nd fav says it all!!(even if I do have a nice bet on him)
One thing for sure, whether good enough or not,UDS will be exciting to watch if he runs over hurdles as he did before going chasing....catch me if you can....would be great for the race.
And the debates on here would be interesting!!!!

If no Faugheen then the lineup could look drastically different than it would have done.

You could make a case for Altior, Yorkhill, UDS, Beveur Dair, VVM or even Moon Racer being in it.

Then ones like Nichols Canyon and The New One who are 50/50 for this or the stayers could be leaning towards this.

I'm sure Ricci will want a runner in each race so I'm not sure he'd run VVM and Limini in the mares and nothing in the stayers.

Lots of twists to come I'm sure.

yes Chief a lot hinges on Faugheen, not only the CH line up,but also a fair few other races.
Supreme, JLT, Stayers, Arkle, Mares,Ryanair will probably all be affected one way or another,if Faugheen don't make it.
My antepost book(whats left of it!!)could get destroyed.

faugheen is a 9 yo now recovering from injury and has had a long layoff , according to another poster  the recovery process for an injury of this type is a slow softly softly approach ,meaning that in all liklyhood he has not had the gun put to his head on the gallops and as a 9 yo he is not going to be improving imo ,some saying a 90% fit faugheen(probably a throwaway comment ) will win this years champion possible but very unlikly imo ,every horse lining up will be 110% fit and trained to the minuet ,there will be no hiding place and no quarter given , question is ,is he stil  capable of a performance in the 170s at his age and with the layoff ? i dont know , much will be revealed this weekend if he runs .

The fact that Yorkhill is still holding up at double figures for the CH I'm taking that as a sign that Faugheen is pleasing connections.
