Easy to get neurotic, of course, concerning any market twitches at this stage, but Faugheen's price twitched for several days before news came of his withdrawal.
Vautour was available at around 5.6 a week ago and has now drifted to 6.4, despite the going at Cheltenham reported as having dried out and a dry long range forecast.
Is he OK, might he yet be re-routed or is this a big opportunity for his fans to pile in?

Looks like more a case of Don Cossack firming up. The money has really come for him the last week or so. GL.

Lovely horse who appears to be at his best around Cheltenham in spring. The fact he was outstayed by a non-stayer in the king George would worry me though...

Yeah, Mullins and co were so pi55ed off with hearing it at every other turn they resorted to whacking Faugheen and AF just to give us something else to talk aboutGrin

they're Vautour backers, being hurt listening to the known evidence(or the truth) over and over again Grin

Trivia: how many Vautour threads do we need to make sure he'll stay the trip and give The Don a good race?

Outstayed by a non stayer, Think I've heard everything now.

Outstayed by Cue Card whose trainer insists is a real stayer these days, and I for one believe him watching the horse.
As for Vautour, think I may have said this before!!,he ran like the textbook non stayer at Kempton, and now has a further 2 furlongs with an uphill finish to contend with.

on better ground going left handed at a place where he's looked impregnable in both his starts to date, with the fact ruby will hold onto him a little longer than he did at Cheltenham! Excited

will be better ground at Cheltenham, if it rains and comes up soft it cant win, but i'll be looking to trade big time if his conditions come right, he'll be pouring it on coming down the hill with them all at it in behind! I think he will trade as short as even money at some point during the race, probably lower.

Shouldn't we be taking the 5/4 NRNB for the Ryanair. That's a penalty kick and still wouldn't surprise me if they changed their minds.  At worst it's saved us some money for the Friday if he doesn't run. Grin

be surprised if they let you have a decent bet at 5/4,be nearer 1/2 if it ran in the ryanair

365 are 5/4. Sportingbet Evens. Would be odds on if they ran, but Ricci has said Gold Cup, but I just wonder?

Been trained for Gold Cup all season not sure why they would switch now, unless going goes heavy which appears unlikely looking at forecast.

But 5/4 for Ryanair nr no bet is a no brainer.
By:

When: 24 Feb 16 21:16
Yeah, I fully expect to have my stake returned, as I'm pretty sure he'll go Gold Cup, but nice to know you've got a great bet sitting in the background incase they do switch plans.

SEATHESTARS....NO1

I've personally started to come round to Don Poli. Think he's a staggering good chance. The race is perfect for a horse like him, meets most stats so at least them gurus would be happy should he do it.
I don't know why but every time I think of this race now I think of his name and for some reason probably a thoroughly ridiculous comparison but all I think about when I try to compare is long run Crazy

well chief,

How much would you like to win if Vautour is rerouted to the Ryanair, £100? If so, would it not be a better option to put just, say £10, on the Exchange at 12.5 to win £115 instead of £100 with the on street bookies at evens? Also, you could also lay some off prior to the race.
By:

When: 24 Feb 16 21:58
I don't expect him to run in the race mate, and don't want to chuck another tenner away (I've been doing that a lot on antepost recently and they soon add up!).

That bet is just a bit of insurance in case he does run.

I have some 5/4 on vautour just to run in the gold cup! But iv always thought Don poli was the most likely winner also cue card must have a great chance as he seems to have the best form of them all this season.

Now this is getting curious.

On the day that the RP has Mullins stating that the Gold Cup has always been the plan and that he's confident that Vautour will "easily stay" the distance, his price for the Gold Cup drifts further still (last matched 7.2, from 5.5 a couple of weeks ago) while, having been as long as 20 for the Ryanair, he suddenly shortens back to 4.8.

Am I missing something?
By:

When: 01 Mar 16 12:34
Because he said atm gold cup looks to be the race the for vautour, options are open.

Also later went on to say about "he has yet to sit down with ruby on what he wants to ride in each race and that will play a big part in where the horses will go

I think it all hinges on Djakadam myself. If he's 100% (which they are saying he is), then Ruby will ride him in the GC and Vautour in the Ryanair.

I'm with you CCM. Fill up on NRNB is my advice for the Ryanair.

When: 01 Mar 16 13:00
Just cannot see both running in the Gold Cup, so yes I agree,it all hinges on Djakadams well being.
It would go against normality not to try and win two races with them.
Will be a bit p!ssed off if Vautour goes Ryanair,as I have Al Ferof at a nice price, but it happens.

When: 01 Mar 16 13:04
Especially when WPM also has Don Poli and Valseur Lido has become a more credible challenger. 3 bullets in the big one and 1 penalty kick in the Ryanair, or all 4 bullets in the big one. I know what I would do... and what Ruby will want to do!

Chief

They certainly make the most of all the races on offer at the festival these days, suits them down to the ground with the amount of horses they have.
No more antepost with their horses for me,unless I am pretty sure in my mind about targets.
