One last chance on Saturday for a horse who's fast becoming my cliff horse Cry
The fact there was a problem with the Jonjo yard earlier in the season when TDS ran so badly (particularly in Betfair Chase) where he hit every fence until BG pulled him up is encouraging as he's clearly a lot better than we've seen this season,

They're obviously hoping to run him in the Gold Cup with Saturdays race in mind,If he wins Saturday he'll half in price as he'll be even better over the extra 2 and a bit furlongs at Cheltenham,Here's hoping Grin

Maybe he's just one of them horse's that has you thinking at the end of every race "next time" Cry
Travels really well in his races and is a lovely jumper (bar last time when he jumped like a crab)
As i say,Saturday will be his last chance with me Crazy

Until he turns up in the GC at huge odds and i wont be able to resist Cry

He was never travelling at Haydock and he was sensibly pulled up. His blood count was found to be all wrong and has apparently only recently returned to normal. Unlikely to be fully wound up for Saturday where conditions should suit.

Jonjo to have a Gold Cup 1-2-3 Shutthefrontdoor, Taquin Du Seuil & Holywell plus a Ryanair / Stayers double Johns Spirit & More of That. What odds?
By:
jasey
When: 05 Feb 15 18:41
6 zeros i reckon
By:
buddeliea
When: 05 Feb 15 18:41
About 6 million to one should be, knowing the bookies and his followers probably odds onLaugh

God I get fed up with all this Jonjo is sh1te all year till March, don't know of any other trainer that can have horses whose prices hardly change all year despite either not running or running badly.

TDS stays 3m2f round Cheltenham well enough to win a gold Cup....that's the day I give up.
By:
CheltenhamRoar
When: 05 Feb 15 18:47
Well he's no worse a horse than Lord Windermere,So maybe you'll be giving up sooner than u think.
By:

When: 05 Feb 15 18:51
No worse at 3m2f?
We shall see.

jonjo said after the Charlie hall in which tds finished 2nd "now we know he definatly stays 3m+"......hopefull that this one will put in a much better performance this time and put him spot on for march ,have  back all 3 of jonjos for the gold cup and barring holywell have big odds ,fingers crossed

Cheltenham roar is it you who has  also   been nibbling at tds and shutthefrontdoors  odds on here ?
By:

And you trust Jonjo Foyles?

Good luck with that.

Have to say using the Wetherby race as some sort of yardstick for a horse staying 3m2f in a Gold Cup is not what I would be doing.Race was full of non stayars and a seriously unfit Conti.

Still, I guess he deserves the chance to prove he stays, just never know for sure till they try.
By:

Well since he's only ever raced 3 miles twice in his career to date and was staying on over 3 miles 1 and Wetherby then yeah we clearly will have to wait,But don't really see how anyone can be so adamant that he wont stay given what we've seen of him so far.

budd  if jonjo said its snowing outside I would open the cutains and check for myself but one thing I would trust jonjo to do is to get his horses spot on for the festival

Buddeliea these horses ain't handicappers,  Holywell and tds,no reason not to try on these,Holywell is a spring horse, tds hasn't jumped well enough, and the yard has been out of sorts but is getting better by the day,do agree regarding tds staying 3 mile 2 though
By:
buddeliea
When: 05 Feb 15 19:04
CR,he may stay,i may be wrong.
From what ive seen of the horse though he looks like a horse that needs 3m at most, and probably slightly less to bring out the best in him. And he needs to jump better to win a Gold Cup as well as stay well.
I will be amazed if he proves me wrong, but this games done it to me before.

All about opinions lads Happy He very well may not stay but he looks a stayer to my humble eye,He may not even be good enough but it's all part of the fun finding out and then coming back here gloating if he hacks up in march Laugh

Foyles im a glutton for punishment, please feel free to nip ahead of me next time Grin

Sorry thought you said you don't know for sure they will try, which can be said with his handicappers.Grin

When: 05 Feb 15 19:19
Fair enough, but really, would you not want better prices to find out, like prices that reflect form during the season perhaps?

Are you both just backing cos they are Jonjos and he gets them there, and ignoring the price?
I mean take Holywell, been virtually the same price all season despite a real poor run and a long absence.
By:
buddeliea
When: 05 Feb 15 19:21
No mate, I meant try as in try 3m2f.
No worries.

budd i backed shutthefrontdoor at 100s all the way down to 25s on hereand laid off my stake at around 20 on here  have also backed tds at around 70s down to 40 plus holywel around 18 -16 .   all 3  are all open to lots more improvement and 2 are proven at the festival stfd has won an irish grand national as a novice under a biggish weight and although not beaten much could be anything
By:
FOYLESWAR
When: 05 Feb 15 19:29
just think there could be  lot more to come from all 3 but as too the best of them who knows ,that's why i had to back all 3 ,
By:
buddeliea
When: 05 Feb 15 19:29
Well that's all fair enough mate, those sort of prices.

Wish ya luck.
By:
FOYLESWAR
When: 05 Feb 15 19:33
cheers budd ,may be way off the mark but with jonjos being out of sorts for much of the season it could be a blessing in disguise as they could arrive at the festival relatively fresh horses who have not had many  hard races in heavy going this season ,that's what i am hoping anyway ..........good luck with yours !
By:
buddeliea
When: 05 Feb 15 21:00
Yeh,i can see that point of view, blessing in disguise and all that.

Just never know in this game.

Whatever one thinks of Jonjo, his horses will always have that air of - whats gonna happen - with them when it comes to the festival

thought he jumped ok, came to win the race 3 out and got done by a better animal.

I thought he would stay on better as all challow hurdle winners get 3miles at least.

When: 07 Feb 15 22:22
i wonder whether they will drop him in trip for ryannair now with some headgear maybe...not a forlorn hope in that race, i'm not sure he stays tbh
By:
Gordon63
When: 08 Feb 15 07:36
was noticeably free in first half of race and was constantly being reined back after jumping very well which inevitably led to a few jumping mistakes and being too far off the leader who was a certain stayer - clearly one for another day, most likely the festival
By:
buddeliea
When: 08 Feb 15 09:44
Just don't jump well enough to be able to get home over a distance probably too far anyway.
Two and a half miler imo,and needs to jump better.

Taquin's Cheltenham target will be the Ryanair. The Gold Cup will wait for another year. Jonjo's Gold Gup horse will be Holywell.
