Can't recall a race , pre Cheltenham, when the 1,2 & 3 in betting are all lined up - going to be fascinating if they all take their chance.

Valseur Lido and Apache Stronghold unlikely to run. Still a cracking race

Be funny if Mullins and Walsh fooled us all and held UDS up and still won pulling a train

Gonna be nervous as a kitten watching this race.
Want to see UDS in the Arkle at Cheltenham so much, and the way he runs, its heart in the mouth stuff.
Plus we finally, after all this time, get to see him taking on horses that will go an awful long way to telling us how good this horse is.
Cant wait!!

Gilgamboa is a serious rival, in two races so far he hasn't even made a semblance of a mistake, the best display of jumping so far from any of these novices in my book and has won his two races very easily looking as if there is plenty more in the locker....I'd be concerned about the arkle if it's quicker ground as they were always going a stride too quick for him on the better ground in the supreme.....I'd like to see him running in the JLT he stays further than two and his asset is his accurate jumping.

Will be a fantastic race, the three best Arkle Contenders all facing off. I just hope nobody falls or blunders badly.

Not fishing at all, pretty much accepted Vautour is not running in the Arkle so top 3 in betting for both Irish and English are the same. UDS, Gilgamboa and Clarcam.

It's not my biggest winner but feel so strongly about where it should run,if it does go jlt I wouldn't touch it,just like I wouldn't touch uds in the arkle, each to there own though, probably why I've lost thousands over the years !

For all we know he maybe has,I'm sure that was his preferred race and has said that is the target all season, think if Vautour was olearys it would be in arkle,no pissing about !

Willie has a real problem now because I don't believe he thought Valseur Lido would contest the JLT when he hatched his plan. I'm not convinced Vautour can beat VL at the extended trip, whose form so far this season has been exceptional. Whilst Clarcam is probably Giggy's intended runner on Sunday, the mere fact that VL has been left in the Irish Arkle as a contingency is fair indication of his Cheltenham target. It's not the RSA.

Lads give it a rest if ye want certain horses to run in certain races then buy them.

WM doesnt care which horse he wins any particular race with whether its Vautour or VL but for his own and his owners sake it would be crazy to run all his good ones in the one race. No one remembers or cares about which horse comes second.

Is there a single thread that the UDS and Vautour argument doesn't get brought up in???

This race could seriously shake up the Arkle and JLT markets on Sunday night.

It's bound to wc. If UDS wins well he will go very short, (especially as he has to give Clarcam 10 lbs) and will justify his lofty reputation. His 2 opponents are different gravy to anything he has faced over fences so far however.

Even if he wins well on Sunday, there is still the matter of coping with horses at the Festival on ground hes not ran on whilst jumping.Presuming theres good in the description that is.
Possible because of that he may not be as short as you think FF.

It will surely depend on the performance, if he wins well then he must shorten up considering that two of his main rivals will have run in the race and as noted he is giving Clarcam 10lbs, if he wins by a length being closed down then he might even drift a bit. My personal opinion would be a 2L win or more with a decent jumping round and he would be a best priced 6/4 to win the Arkle, a win would surely mean Vautour is more likely to be aimed elsewhere. Personally I am not overly concerned about a change of going at the festival compared to the soft he has run in but others might be.

A great weekend of racing. Really can't wait.  Just want to see UDS run and jump well and see if he's as good as we thought.  If he jumps sound and gets beat then so be it, but can't wait to find out.

Their is definitely a feeling that cos all his jumping races have been on soft ground,he may struggle on decent ground.
If you consider that he wins his races easily on soft against inferior opposition, then against good ground quality horses hes got a whole different scenario to deal with.
Personally I think he will be fine on good/soft,his bumper race suggests he will be ok on it.
No soft in the description its anyones guess how he will cope.

To be fair to UDS, he really will be some horse if he can give 10lb to Clarcam on what we've seen of that one this season.

I agree with Fallen Angel, too, in that I can't see quicker ground as a problem for UDS at Cheltenham - I think it'll help him get home and put the others under pressure when he tanks into his long lead. My biggest worry for him at Cheltenham is simply that he's so fizzy and never been anywhere with much of a crowd that he could boil over before the off.
