Gutfeeling I'll have whatever you want on that Vautour would beat Clarcam in a match bet in the Arkle. I suspect Vautour won't run in it however but if he does you just give me a shout and we'll get it arranged on here.

gemix is a class horse in france. not saying he's top top class or even consistent, but he has some top form to his name.
By:
I think there are plenty of top-class horses that don't have 40% strike rates!
By:
(Just for fun like..) but name them..
By:
Gemix unplaced 3 times from 20 starts and a dual French Champion Hurdle winner, Yeah I'd say he was a fair horse but you stick to using his one race outside of france to base your opinion on.
I'm not interested in your match bets but thanks for the offer, I'll stick to betting against the bookies. |
By:
Glad to hear there are still those that can get bets on with the bookies mate.

By:
Never had a problem but then I am in Newmarket, Bookies here tend to be used to taking good sized bets.

if vautour runs this weekend as now seems likely then unlikely he will line up for irish arkle which probably means that UDS will, so hopefully clarcam and the others will show up so UDS can do a demolition job on them. sounds like UDS splits opinion on here in similar way to 'The Fly', not sure why when the evidence is there before you, one is an all time great and the other could join him in a few years time god willing

By:
It's looking more likely Vautour goes for the JLT now, especially if he runs on Sunday in the 2m3f race won by Djakadam last year.
By:
I don't think Vautour will beat Valseur Lido over 2 miles 3 furlongs on soft ground and wlll be surprised to see him line up. Ideal JLT prep for Gigginstown's best novice chaser though.
By:
Im disappointed if Vautour don't make the Arkle, and also if UDS runs in the Irish Arkle.
Was kinda hoping that we would have the clash of the Unknown against the proven Graded performers. Oh well. Still all eyes on UDS if he lines up in the Irish Arkle, and we should know after that race if hes the real deal or not.Just hope he has decent opponents, should do I would think. |
By:
Festivalfanatic, worth noting that Valseur Lido also entered over three miles at Naas on Saturday.
By:
Yeh,that could happen,VL in RSA, Don Poli in 4 miler
![]() |
By:
Also, PP have priced up Sunday's race without Valseur Lido in the market, which suggests he either goes to Naas or doesn't go anywhere this weekend.
Vautour 2/7 fwiw. |

Done my conquers in backing Pinnochios horses. He said rsa for poli, now it looks like uds arkle, vautour jlt, lido rsa and poli 4 miles. I thought vautour and poli looked like proper arkle and rsa sorts respectively.Oh well, sh** happens. My festival is hanging by a thread. Not running is one thing, but when they re-route, it has the potential to ruin a different voucher.

See Clarcam also entered on Sunday,so if he runs there he wont be in the Irish Arkle a week later.
Gilgamboa would be UDS main opponent I imagine. If he don't run its another stroll!! |
By:
Balance of VL's form is about speed, not stamina. I'm not sure that WPM will take the risk of pissing off O'Leary if VL runs in the RSA (loses) and entrusts the future of a potential GC winner to Patrick Fookin Mullins.
I still think Vautour is going to have to beat VL to win the JLT if he contests it. VL has probably demonstrated the best level of form of any novice chaser in Ireland this season. He might run over 3 miles as a Festival prep but so did Faugheen. |
By:
Gigginstown are not afraid to run two or three in same race so I am not worried just yet about valseur lido poss rerouting to rsa, if he does though it would be to accomodate vautours chances in the jlt if anything else! I intend having a small saver on vl for rsa tomorrow at the current 12s just to cover stakes in jlt with a little ickle profit

Unbeaten in seven starts over hurdles last season, the seven-year-old came to grief when long odds-on for his chasing debut at Thurles in late November, but righted that wrong with a bold display from the front at Fairyhouse last month.
Mullins currently dominates the ante-post betting for the Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival, with Un De Sceaux Sky Bet's 9/4 market leader ahead of esteemed stable companion Vautour, last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner rated a 6/1 chance. Vautour, who is on a recovery mission after a disappointing run over Christmas, is set to line up in this weekend's Leopardstown Killiney Novice Chase, leaving the path clear for Un De Sceaux to bid for Irish Arkle glory. Profiles Un De Sceaux Mullins said: "We'll see what happens in the next couple of days, but I think Vautour will go on Sunday. I'm keen to run." Asked whether Vautour's intended weekend participation mean Un De Sceaux would run in the Arkle at Leopardstown, the champion trainer said: "I think that's a good possibility." |

By:
Great..looks like my Vautour vouchers are doomed,it piisses me off when you think horses you have picked are running in the wrong races, hopefully un de sceaux scopes badly on the 8th March..joke

Happened to me last year with Mullins horses, have to be real careful punting his early doors.
By:
I had nice prices on both UDS and Annie power for the CH and Felix younger for the Arkle. None of them ran where I thought they would.
By:
Chance you take I suppose, gives me something to twine about for a few week, turn to looking at other races !
By:
someone appears to have accidentally matched Un de Sceuax for £1k at evens today. Nice loss on that trade compared to the freely available 2/1
By:
yes that was accidentally performed by a trading bot..
By:
Same here cufcno....hope UDS gets beat Sunday so sense can prevail. Either that or they bottle it again and go for a 3 runner seller in France
By:
Yawn, give it a rest,same old sh!te.
By:
Am I right in saying from reading earlier posts that you haven't actually backed this horse to win the Arkle Buddelia?
By:
I hope they both run, right race for them both but don't think that's not gonna happen now,I think Vautour would beat uds anyway, uds got to get round in the Irish arkle yet !
By:
Nope ain't baked him, missed prices early in season and then I weren't sure at all he would run,he's too short for me now without nrnb. Not sure what that's got to do with it anyway, unless I should pocket talk as others are on here,Vautour Arkle backers mostly I suspect.
By:
budd,
one word answer...do you think UDS will win the Arkle...yes or no? |
By:
5 declared for the Irish Arkle at this stage. Best 2 mile novice chase run either side of the Irish Sea this season if they all turn up. Gigginstown have left Valseur Lido in as well as Clarcam. Wonder if this is further indication that Don Poli will run in the Moriarty?
Anyway, UDS has the chance to prove his mettle on Sunday. Apache Stronghold the weakest of his 4 opponents on paper... ![]() |

duffy - yes

Would be surprised to see Gigginstown run VL and Clarcam?

Not sure what that's got to do with it anyway, unless I should pocket talk as others are on here,Vautour Arkle backers mostly I suspect. I must say, if I had the belief in a horse that you seem to have with this one I would have steamed right in. To go on about the horse day in day out and not back him is rather bizarre to me. The Vautour backers (and I am one of them) have a right to their opinion as you do yours. We believe that with his 6 length Supreme winner over 2 miles, added to his Grade one record that he has every right to run in the race. If he doesn't run plan B is in place to go back him in the JLT. It's not pocket talking from me, I would just take the loss, move on and hope Josses Hill gets placed at least to recoup the loss. But Vautour as we know would have no problem with Josses Hill and he is 3rd fav for this. |

UDS is by far the most likely winner and we could all be on here late in March going 'Christ, 2/1 was a big price' much in the same way as we did we debating Sprinter Sacre for his arkle.
I can't back him now though as you have to go back to find a horse who had fallen en-route to arkle success, he hasn't run at chelt before and we have no idea how he'll handle the occasion or the likely GOOD (no matter what the official description) ground. He could murder the field but there's enough issues to make 2/1 an unappealing price |

You have to go back to Moscow Flyer is what I meant!!

could be even money this horse if he beats these 2 this weekend and 2/1 might of looked value after this race...on the other hand if the scalp is taken, it throws the race wide open again...big race this weekend for arkle backers

You seem to be struggling to understand my posts. The one just above is the first time I can remember saying I think he will win(may be wrong)said so bl00dy much on the subject!!.And that's only cos Duffy asked me to answer in one word. I would like to answer I really don't know, and that he has it all to prove having never had the chance to face a serious horse, thanks to his connections. And the way he runs he may hit one a tad too hard and that could be it.Plus he may not get his own way so much on decent ground. Virtually every post I have put up on here has been about how much I want him to run,the excitement of a front runner in a top 2m race etc etc. Also saying to people like you who constantly say the same negative things about him to the point of boredom, that he deserves to be given the chance to prove himself and then you can judge him fairly after that. You may have your chance on Sunday, you may be proved right, then again...... Look hes an exciting front runner who could be any level as far as we know, why not let the horse prove what level he is. As for Vautour...again you are struggling to understand. I have said many times that he should be in the Arkle and that I want him to run in the Arkle. You say about my belief.......the only real beliefs I have on this subject is that I believe both UDS and Vautour should run in Arkle and UDS does not deserve to be judged badly until hes had the chance to prove what level hes at. |
